Partnering for Workforce Success

Understanding the Complex Landscape of Workforce Development in New York State

The workforce development landscape is a complex ecosystem, influenced by a multitude of stakeholders and funding sources. Through extensive research and strategic partnerships across New York State, Advance Media New York has gained a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within this evolving field.

Advocacy & Awareness Organizations

Advocacy & Awareness Organizations play a vital role in securing funding, building partnerships, and developing resources to support workforce development initiatives.  Goal for this group is building connections with program development groups.

Non-profits, community colleges, and other educational organizations

Non-profits, community colleges, and other educational organizations play a crucial role in connecting individuals with life-changing workforce development programs. They strategically promote these programs to specific and often underrepresented communities.  Goal for this group is program enrollment.

Local Companies

Local Companies contribute to workforce development by developing their own programs and partnering with organizations that offer training and education. This not only helps to build a skilled workforce but also enhances a company’s reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.

Economic development groups and industry-specific needs

Economic development groups and industry-specific needs drive unique workforce development initiatives. Local chambers focus on general talent acquisition, while individual organizations support specialized skill development (e.g., healthcare, education, manufacturing). The goal is to ensure a consistent pipeline of skilled labor to meet the growing demands of critical industries and contribute to economic success.

Amtrak National Recruitment

Amtrak National’s Human Resources Department recently approached us with the need to fill 4,000 jobs.

Their goal was to connect talented people, with an emphasis on DEI, to Amtrak career opportunities that align best with the prospective hire – from those just starting their careers or looking for new opportunities to those with more experience.

Amtrak wanted to target specific large DMAs across the country, reaching their target audience with something new and different. The solution? Our team produced compelling videos highlighting the benefits of their organization, and why candidates should join their team.

In addition to the video living on the website, our in-house creative team developed a unique distribution strategy that allows the video to dynamically perform across streaming services in the US.

This allowed Amtrak to reap all the benefits of dynamic video ads at a fraction of the cost and effort of traditional video production. The dynamic video delivery platform allows the video to play and simultaneously showcase priority open job opportunities in real time.

The final video is featured on Amtrak’s career website | careers.amtrak.com

In Spring 2023, CenterState CEO’s The Tech Garden began accepting applications for their Surge Accelerator program.

Syracuse Surge Accelerator provides direct resources and support for Black-Indigenous-Persons of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs who want to launch and accelerate tech-related and tech-adjacent startups in Syracuse, New York.

The Tech Garden, led by Dr. Emad Rahim, teamed up with Advance Media New York to help meet their goal of submissions from 30 qualified applicants. To create awareness, AMNY researched the most effective markets and tactics to employ. Metro areas that are ethnically diverse and/or index highly in the tech industry in the

Northeast were chosen as the target markets.

The targeting also included ad delivery to tech job seekers and entrepreneurs – an audience created using AMNY’s rich 1st and 3rd party data. The digital campaign consisted of targeted display ads, OTT video, re-messaging, and geo-fencing select HBCU’s and universities across the Northeast. AMNY’s Creative Services team filmed and produced a 30-second video that was featured in the video ad distribution. The public relation strategy offered press release creation and distribution to select media outlets, social media content creation, blog content creation, and a long-form video interview with Dr. Emad Rahim.
