    When I was studying to become a tour guide in Philadelphia I bought this book to get an overview of the cities history from the time of its founding until the 1900s.

    It's a remarkable book and I've reread it twice. Philly is such a great city and this book is an amazing look at a place that has gone through transition after transformation. With sections written by differt writers you get more than one person's view which is interesting. If you're interested in the history of Philly I highly recommend buying this book.
