The first trailer for The Ritual has been released.
The Ritual is a new exorcism horror movie starring Al Pacino and Dan Stevens. Directed by David Midell, the film will be released in United States theaters this coming June.

What happens in The Ritual trailer?
The Ritual trailer sees Father Joseph Steiger (Stevens) and Father Theophilus (Pacino) attempt to perform an exorcism on a possessed woman, Emma Schmidt (Abigail Cowen). Darkness and evil quickly surround the convent where the exorcism is taking place, which then tests the faith of Father Steiger, Father Theophilus, and everyone else who is present.
“The shocking true story of the most infamous exorcism in American history,” the official logline reads.
The cast of The Ritual also includes Ashley Greene, Maria Camila Giraldo, Meadow Williams, Patrick Fabian, and Patricia Heaton.
Midell wrote the screenplay for the movie, based on a story by him and Enrico Natale. Natale serves as a producer with Ross Marks, Andrew Stevens, and Mitchell Welch.
Williams is an executive producer alongside Nick Spicer, Aram Tertzakian, Nate Bolotin, Alex Williams, Maxime Cottray, Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, Tyler Gould, Lee Broda, Jeff Rice, Chris Paladino, Tamra Bohorquez, Sharad Chib, Isaac Rosner, Cole Garson, Jordan Wagner, Jeff Holland, and Rick Moore.
Midell said in a statement, “Some have described exorcisms as Rorschach tests: those with a background in faith and religion see a spiritual struggle for the soul of a human being, while those who are more scientifically minded see a person in need of psychiatric assistance. Spiritual or psychological, what cannot be denied is the profound suffering experienced by Emma Schmidt, and the bravery and fortitude required by those who came together to alleviate her suffering.”
The Ritual will be released in United States theaters on June 6, 2025, from XYZ Films.
