Powers Still 3 - H 2015

The PlayStation Network comic book drama from Sony Television has been canceled after two seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Co-creator and executive producer Brian Michael Bendis revealed Wednesday.

The series marked Playstation’s first foray into original series programming when it launched on the PlayStation Network in 2015. Based on Bendis‘ comic, the series starred Sharlto Copley as a cop who works in the Powers division of the police force and deals with crimes involving those endowed with special abilities. Susan Heyward, Noah Taylor, Olesya Rulin, Adam Godley, Max Fowler and Michael Madsen also starred.
The news comes several weeks after the end of Powers‘ 10-episode second season on July 19. The show was originally developed for FX before PlayStation picked it up in 2014. In addition to PlayStation, the first season of the series had been available on Sony’s Crackle streaming service, until it was pulled in May.
The show was produced by Jinxworld and Circle of Confusion in association with SPT. Comics scribe Charlie Huston exec produced along with Remi Aubuchon, Bendis and comics co-creator Michael Avon Oeming, David Engel, Lawrence Mattis, David Alpert and Frank Frattaroli.

Along with news of the cancellation, Bendis assured fans that the Powers comic book series will continue. The writers are already two issues into the upcoming Diamond Days storyline, according to Bendis.
It’s unclear whether PlayStation Network will continue to invest in original series programming moving forward post-Powers.
