Thanks to all that came out for our first chapter meeting of the year this past Tuesday! It was a successful event on Data Management in Capital Projects with significant engagement from the attendees. A special thanks to our 3 expert panelists Jacob Gleason, MBA, Meredith Holcomb, and Nagarjun Devarapalli MBA, MS for their time and incredible insight!! Here are some of the major takeaways from the event: DATA CHALLENGES IN CAPITAL PROJECTS The panel highlighted key pain points for EPCs and Owner/Operators, even stemming from inconsistencies in units of measure, or date formats. Industry standards like CFIHOS can bridge these gaps, improving efficiency and collaboration across capital projects. THE POWER OF STRUCTURED DATA Unstructured data—think scanned files and specs—poses a real challenge for capital project teams, underscoring the need for robust data validation and early requirement gathering to boost project outcomes. COLLABORATION IS KEY Exchanging info between Owner Operators, EPCs, and Vendors is easier said than done. The experts stressed the importance of starting with the end in mind and aligning on standards to streamline handovers and cut risks. LEVERAGING DATA Various process inefficiencies were highlighted, such as spare part interchangeability, which remains a headache in capital projects. These inefficiencies point to poor usage of available data which can ultimately lead to project delays, issues, and significant wasted costs. Visibility, validation, and significant early collaboration are critical to leveraging data appropriately. Stay tuned for the announcement of our next event in April! And as always, engage with us and let us know what topics and speakers you would like featured! What a fantastic day on Friday at the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Annual Luncheon & Business Expo! Access Sciences was honored to participate as an Executive Partner sponsor at this sold-out event. It is the largest business luncheon in Houston – with roughly 2,000 entrepreneurs, executives, officials, and professionals attending each year.   We want to acknowledge our appreciation to Dr. Laura Murillo, HHCC President & CEO (and a valued member of Access Sciences’ Board of Directors), for her visionary leadership and for delivering a program filled with inspirational highlights. Access Sciences is proud to stand alongside her and the Chamber in championing the values of hard work and inclusive business growth, and we remain committed to these principles in everything we do.   A big thank you to everyone who visited our booth and contributed to the event’s success – and we look forward to continued collaboration and shared success in the future! #HoustonBusiness #PurposeDriven #DiversityAndInclusion
