Open-source low-code application development
About us
Appsmith is an open-source low-code application platform that simplifies custom application development for businesses, allowing them to streamline operations, automate processes, quickly integrate multiple apps and data, and enhance legacy applications with new features. Unlike traditional low-code platforms, the Appsmith platform is lightweight, extremely developer-friendly, and designed to fully integrate within modern SDLC processes. Appsmith easily connects to a wide range of databases, APIs, and SaaS applications, and provides drag-and-drop UI building tools that are 10x faster than UI development using Angular or React frameworks. Appsmith pairs low-code speed with full-code flexibility and control. Developers can customize business logic, data sources, and UI elements using JavaScript, import their own JavaScript libraries, and manage code in a centralized IDE. Appsmith allows full-stack and backend developers, systems administrators, and data teams to quickly build highly-functional dashboards, admin panels, customer 360, IT automation, and service management tools that span multiple data sources.

Proud to do our part to advance laziness throughout the enterprise 🤭
Sure, I’m lazy – but lately, I’ve been wondering if I’m lazy enough. They say necessity is the mother of invention, but for me, it was laziness. I got tired of clicking through the Google Admin console, so I got lazy and started using GAM instead. I once accidentally revoked Dropbox licenses for 150 users, so I took the lazy way out and fixed it using Python and the Dropbox API. And when I needed to tag 300,000 images, I got a Jetson Orin Nano and set up a local LLM to do the work for me. So yeah – I’m lazy. But maybe I should be even lazier? For most IT automation tasks, I default to writing Python scripts or spinning up local Flask apps. But I’m starting to wonder… is even that too much work? With the rise of low-code and no-code tools like Retool and Airtable, do I really need to be writing all this from scratch? Should I just let Softr and Appsmith handle the heavy lifting – where "heavy" really just means "clicking"? Seriously – sometimes I have to click two or three times a minute – who can keep up that pace? Laziness got me into automation. But if doubling down on laziness means moving to tools that make it even easier, then I say bring it on. You know, for science. Have you made the shift from code-heavy automation to low-code/no-code solutions? Or are you still happily hacking away? Let’s hear it.

Our internal tooling is starting to pile up, so I thought I'd take time to reflect on what our startup's Customer Success team is using: Mintlify - External docs, great free tier, powerful if you know mdx Screen Studio - Build beautiful demo vids. Bought it out-of-pocket. Brilliant. Looker Studio - Custom dashboards for customers. Included in GSuite. Great if you know SQL. Might be moving over to Metabase soon. Cal.com, Inc. - Easy scheduling, great free tier tl;dv - AI Meeting Assistant - Very reliable meeting recordings Tally - Notion-like form builder, beautiful, great free tier Datadog - Session logging Appsmith - Self-hosted internal app builder n8n - Self-hosted automation monday CRM - CRM. It's fine. We're still looking for a great support ticketing tool... Pylon? Our tooling must have modern taste, straightforward pricing, and an awareness of HIPAA privacy. That last part has pushed us toward more self-hosted options. Self-hosting's best perk is that it typically avoids per-seat pricing. That pairs well with our to gaol to make sure everyone at Kibu can access and contribute to anything, fast.

Ever wonder why AI agents stumble when asked about your company's private data? 🤖 Large language models are incredible — but structured business data is their kryptonite. Semantic data models fix that problem, connecting the dots across databases so you get actually useful responses at enterprise scale. Check out our latest blog post all about semantic data models, knowledge graphs, and ontologies (and how they play with AI). 👇 #AI #LLM #KnowledgeGraph #EnterpriseAI
