Arkisys is excited to announce that in collaboration with Sidus Space we have integrated one of the first post-launch connectable interfaces in orbit on LizzieSat-3! The iSSI Interface, developed by iBOSS is one of the first interfaces approved for the Arkisys Port platform. Sidus is one of the first spacecraft providerS to fly a connectable interface that would enable it to be modified or augmented post launch. "This mission with Sidus is more than just a milestone — it’s a big step toward revolutionizing how satellites are designed for long-term, sustainable operations in orbit," says David A Barnhart, CEO of Arkisys. "As the space economy rapidly pushes toward a trillion-dollar frontier, Arkisys is enabling and encouraging satellite manufacturers to think beyond one-time missions and unlock the undiscovered potential of space systems through adaptable, post-launch capabilities." Big thanks to the Office of Space Commerce and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) for setting up and hosting the first of what may be recurring events to tackle the creation of the Circular Economy in Space! Honored to be on the stage with other thought/action leaders helping make this happen, U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, CisLunar Industries, Stoke Space, XCMR and Space Phoenix, plus many others! Side note: Attended Commercial Space Federation (CSF) conference the day before... hmmm: I observed there may be non-convergent focus between "human-rated" LEO based economy with future space stations and the broader ISAM non-human rated platform(s) economy. IMHO they are directly synergistic, thus we may need to engage in broader discussion to educate both need to exist, which may well help raise the tide of the commercial potential for all... Kudo's and shout out to fellow CONFERS | The Consortium for Execution of Rendezvous and Servicing Operations member Jon Beam from Rogue Space Systems Corporation for helping corral this event from industry, and providing insight and thoughts on how collaboration amongst us may be the key to change culture... that is, end of mission for any satellite/spacecraft no longer has to be end of life! Today there are multiple companies poised to add new value to satellites, post launch... Time to crack open the "undiscovered markets" that here-to-fore were only dreamed of... Thanks again Commerce for helping lead the way! My gosh this is an exciting time...
