🚺 Honoring Women's History by Supporting Women's Recovery 💜 Addiction in women is often misunderstood, but at its core, it's deeply connected to trauma. From childhood abuse to domestic violence and military sexual trauma, many women turn to substances to cope with overwhelming pain. Yet, addiction treatment hasn't always addressed these underlying issues. Women's History Month is a time to reflect—not just on progress in women's rights but also on the barriers that still exist for women seeking recovery. Historically, addiction treatment was designed around men's experiences, leaving women with fewer specialized options and greater stigma. But today, trauma-informed, gender-responsive care is changing lives. At Avery Lane for Women, we believe recovery isn't just about stopping substance use—it's about healing the trauma beneath it. Every woman deserves compassionate, effective treatment that meets her unique needs. 📖 Read our latest article: The Intersection of Trauma, Addiction, and Women's Rights – A Women's History Month Reflection at https://lnkd.in/e_qVkXey 💬 Join the conversation. A Healing Center for Women
About us
Avery Lane is a drug and alcohol treatment center whose program is designed and carefully developed exclusively to meet the unique needs of women struggling with addiction. Avery Lane strives to help women find their inner strength in order to overcome the disease of addiction. We have created a "community environment" where staff and patients work together to heal and grow. At Avery Lane, we incorporate this community philosophy into a long-term, primary care substance abuse program with specialized clinical treatment plans to address all components of the disease of addiction independent of substance abuse or dependence. Our approach utilizes a model integrating philosophies, research, and clinical practices from the medical, psychiatric, psychological, human potential, social, familial, and self-help fields.
