Let’s talk about mastering time. No, we’re not talking about some fantasy/sci-fi ancient magic that bends the space-time continuum. Though, let’s be real, that would be useful. At Ballast, we talk about controlling and measuring time A LOT. Part of that is because we’re finance nerds and we want our clients to understand on a very detailed level all the ways in which time literally is money. But it’s also because we’re small business owners ourselves. It’s one of the biggest factors in how we hire, develop our team, and run Ballast as a business. And we hold ourselves to a very high bar: ⏳ Prioritizing what actually moves the business forward ⏳ Meeting deadlines—because delays cost real money ⏳ Addressing procrastination in real time (not letting issues pile up) To put it bluntly, time wasted is money lost. The way a business spends its time is directly tied to its financial health. That’s why we expect it from ourselves, our team, and the businesses we support.
