  • Meet Luis, an Emergency Department RN at Baptist Hospital of Miami! Inspired by his mother’s dedication to medicine, he pursued nursing to make a difference in people’s lives—just as Baptist once did for him. Read his story below! "Since I was young, I always knew I wanted to be in the medical field. My mother was a doctor in our home country, and watching her care for others with such dedication deeply inspired me. That inspiration, paired with my natural compassion for people, led me to pursue a career in nursing, a path where I knew I could make a real difference in people’s lives during some of their most vulnerable moments. Before becoming a nurse, I always chose Baptist for my medical care because the experience was consistently exceptional. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt seen, heard, and cared for. Every interaction, from the front desk to the physicians, nurses, techs, and support staff, reflected a commitment to excellence, compassion, and patient-centered care. It wasn’t just about treating symptoms but treating people with dignity and respect. That level of care left a lasting impression on me and solidified my desire to be part of an organization where every role contributes to making a difference. As an Emergency Room nurse, I am proud to say I’m living out that dream. The ER can be chaotic, fast-paced, and emotionally intense, but it’s also where I feel I can have the most significant impact. I walk into work every shift knowing I’m part of a team ready to take on anything and always treating each other like a big family. Baptist has empowered me to grow as a nurse, a leader, a patient advocate, and a stronger version of myself. Thanks to Baptist, I’m not just doing what I once dreamed of but exceeding those dreams and pushing toward even more." - Luis, Emergency Dept RN Interested in joining our team?
