  • We've got some awesome news from the coffee world: Army veteran and friend of BRCC Nick Ginter just became a certified Q Grader ☕ 🇺🇲 🔥 You may know him from his social media account "Degenerates Drinking Coffee," which he started in 2019 after leaving the military. We asked Nick a few questions about how he followed his passion for the science behind the perfect cup of coffee, and how it brought him to where he is today. "Earning my Q- Arabica certification was my way of putting my money where my mouth is; I have portrayed myself on social media as someone who deeply respects quality and coffee producers, so earning my Q was a way to check myself on my knowledge and skill level, as well as prove to the coffee industry that I am not just a social media influencer, but a credible authority in the field. My goal now is to continue working with Black Rifle Coffee Company to promote an appreciation for what coffee is and why the preparation of it deserves respect." On how to elevate a cup of coffee from good to great: "The textbook answer is that a great cup of coffee has distinct, positive characteristics, a cupping score of 80 or higher, the TDS is between 1.15%-1.35%, the average extraction yield percentage is 18%-22%, and ideally, has no taints or faults. My answer is in line with the cupping score sheet: great coffee should have pleasant fragrance and aroma, flavors and aftertaste, body, balance, acidity, uniformity, and sweetness." We're always excited for the chance to partner with veterans like Nick who hit the ground running after they leave the military to follow their passions. Especially when that passion is coffee. ☕ Follow "Degenerates Drinking Coffee" on social media for more: https://lnkd.in/gnWnJGUk #veteranbusiness #degeneratesdrinkingcoffee #qgrader

“Humans don’t mind hardship, in fact, they thrive on it. What they mind is not feeling necessary.” – Sebastian Junger (Tribe) Purpose is Life. For years, the military gave me a sense of purpose—something bigger than myself, a team that relied on me, and a mission that mattered. That purpose didn’t just shape my career; it shaped who I am. As I transition out of the military, I’ve found that same sense of purpose at Black Rifle Coffee Company. Here, it’s not just about Coffee and Energy Drinks. It’s about the mission and community. It's about finding purpose in life. At BRCC, we know that purpose doesn’t end when the uniform comes off. That’s why we’re building something bigger—helping others find their next mission, their next team, and their reason to keep pushing forward. And it’s not just within Black Rifle. We’re looking to build a "Tribe" that can help retiring active duty, current veterans, and other mission-driven individuals find their next purpose and meaningful opportunities—wherever that may be. If you’re an organization or person who wants to join this Tribe (mission/community), let's connect. The team is greater than the individual; we know we are better together. Together we will find ways to support, uplift, and empower those who thrive on challenge but, more importantly, want to feel necessary. Why You Should Drink Coffee: A Science-Backed Argument ☕ Coffee isn’t just a morning pick-me-up—it has powerful health benefits backed by research. Studies show that drinking 3–5 cups a day can lower the risk of colorectal cancer recurrence and overall mortality. Coffee contains antioxidants, anti-inflammatory compounds (polyphenols and caffeine, yes, caffeine!), and gut-friendly nutrients that may help fight cancer, support liver health, and even improve heart function. Beyond cancer prevention, coffee has been linked to a lower risk of diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Type 2 diabetes. It boosts mental focus, metabolism, and mood, making it a simple yet effective way to support long-term health. The best part? You don’t need fancy supplements—just a fresh cup of coffee. While too much caffeine can cause jitters, moderate coffee consumption is safe and potentially life-extending, just like a glass or two of wine - but that is a different topic for another day! So, if you love your daily cup, keep drinking! And if you’re on the fence, hopefully, we have given you a great reason to start. To top it off, when you support veteran-owned coffee companies like Black Rifle Coffee Company, you directly support organizations like HunterSeven and our cancer screening efforts for at-risk veterans. #Coffee isn't just a morning ritual—it's a way to give back to those who served. By choosing to drink coffee from veteran-owned businesses, you're not just fueling your day—you’re helping to fund critical medical screenings for at-risk veterans who need it most. 💥 So, next time you grab a cup, make it count.
