You’re probably making these flooring installation mistakes right NOW! There are a lot of mistakes that can be made, particularly by inexperienced contractors, which can ruin the integrity of your floor. It’s important to choose a flooring partner who can ensure you get the longest lifespan from your floor. And avoid the most common mistakes. 1️⃣ Resinous coatings require the underlying surface to be free of all dirt and oils and cannot be applied directly to smooth concrete. It needs to be roughed up to create a surface the resin can easily bind to. 2️⃣ Concrete must dry for at least 24 hours to get out as much moisture as possible from the concrete. An experienced contractor knows how to conduct moisture tests, so they know when the concrete is ready to be coated. 3️⃣ Resin mixing must be done quickly and accurately to prevent air from becoming trapped in the resin.
