Community Health Workers (CHWs) play a big role in bridging the divide between public health and health care, expediting the process of getting resources and services to the communities that need them. Executive Director of Operation Gateway Philip Cooper, CCHW, CPSS, highlights how CHWs’ involvement in communities makes them uniquely equipped to solve problems. Now is a crucial time to bolster CHW initiatives around the U.S. Nominate your organization or another for the Catalyst Awards, which fund organizations that demonstrate a strong capacity to integrate CHWs in ways that strengthen partnerships between health care and public health in communities.
