DANNCE is a deep learning solution to automate behavioral analysis for drug development and disease diagnosis. Our platform takes patient video as input and uses our proprietary 3-D pose tracking and behavioral analysis algorithms to quantify behavior. DANNCE will help clinicians see the unseeable and drug developers generate real world evidence by using movement data and computer vision.

Many of us know someone affected by Parkinson's or another movement disorder, and we’ve seen the challenges they face. Treatment for these conditions varies widely, depending not only on the specific diagnosis but also on how accurately symptoms are measured and monitored over time. Precise tracking of symptoms is essential to tailoring treatments effectively, helping doctors and patients better understand disease progression and response to therapies. We at LDV Capital are thrilled to partner with the brilliant #deeptech team at DANNCE.ai to leverage advanced computer vision solutions to increase drug efficacy and significantly improve the lives of people with movement disorders. We led their $2.6M pre-seed round along with co-investors Glasswing Ventures, Leo Lion Limited Company, Duke Capital Partners and Merck Digital Sciences Studio. We thrive on investing in people building innovative solutions that enhance people’s lives and provide substantial value. See more details in Evan Nisselson’s article👇

We are proud to announce the newest company in our Pre-Seed Program: DANNCE.ai. DANNCE's technology, which originated at Harvard University and was further developed at Duke University, will improve the lives of patients with movement disorders. The technology leverages AI to reconstruct patients' movements in 3D and transform data into easy-to-interpret readouts, allowing patients broader access to objective screenings and therapy development. We look forward to supporting Rob Baldoni, Timothy Dunn, and Jesse Marshall as they transition the technology from academic to clinical use. I’m proud to announce that DANNCE.ai has raised $2.6 million in pre-seed funding led by LDV Capital, following initial investment from Glasswing Ventures, with participation from The Leo Lion Limited Company, Duke Capital Partners, and Merck Digital Sciences Studio. DANNCE.ai is a Duke University and Harvard University spinout that is bringing to market DANNCE, a new approach to the clinical examination of movement that ingests videos of patients and automatically analyzes them for evidence of neurological disease like Parkinson’s. 1 in 10 people will go on to develop a movement disorder, and we’re on a mission to improve patient outcomes for all through making diagnosis and management of symptoms more objective, accelerating the development of neurological therapeutics, and increasing access to care. Special thanks to Evan Nisselson and Rudina Seseri and the entire syndicate for your conviction in us. James Massaquoi Ash Cleary Barbara White Robert Brown Kurt Schmidt Daniel (Jie) Luo V. Cary Ritter Camella Wilson, PhD Lizzie Lee Prem Tumkosit (and Ahmet Hamdi C. Robbie Hardy Jeff Welch Jee Jung Yelena Bisharyan, PhD Daniel Dardani Allison Byers Veena Krishnappa Duke's Office for Translation & Commercialization) This success is only possible due to the support of family, countless friends, and our amazing team Timothy Dunn Jesse Marshall Shereen Shermak Joe Chan Rebekah Griesenauer, PhD Suraj Dhulipalla who I’m lucky to be able to spend everyday working with. The field of movement disorders has seen few breakthroughs since the therapeutical potential of L-DOPA was discovered in the 1960s. We are motivated to catalyze new advances for patients and to be the first company to provide clinicians and drug developers with a tool to optimize neurological care and characterize drug effects.
