Check out my latest column in TTI's MarketEYE - I discuss the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation and why it could drastically change how products are designed, built, marketed, and sold. Ultimately I don't think this is misguided; industry has historically ignored environmental performance for its products so enormous opportunity exists. That industry is allowing a government to tell it how to do this is disappointing but, apparently, necessary. "The (UK) government has laid legislation to continue recognition of current EU requirements, including the CE marking (Conformité Européene, or European Conformity marking). The legislation will apply indefinitely for a range of product regulations. This means businesses will have the flexibility to use either the UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) or CE marking to sell products in Great Britain (GB).
