  • It’s Super Bowl weekend, and for us at Detroit Labs, it’s always a reminder of one of the projects that helped put us on the map: Chevy Game Time. Back in 2012—just a year into our journey as a startup—we teamed up with the fine folks at Goodby Silverstein + Partners to build a live second-screen experience for the big game. The result? An app that cracked the top 10 in the app stores engaged over 700,000 users that night and even brought home a Cannes Gold Lion. For those of us at Detroit Labs at the time, it was a defining moment. We rallied—day and night—to pull off something ambitious, and it remains one of the unforgettable milestones in our history.   • We recently hosted an internal hackathon in collaboration with Google to introduce our team and clients to Google's Search and Agent AI tech. AI is a vast field, but the hackathon provided a fun and collaborative environment for everyone to explore these tools and envision the potential for our clients. It was wonderful to see everyone in person, getting creative, and sharing the results of their work. A huge shout out to those that made this event possible, especially Nikki Evelyn and Nicole Minaudo for their exceptional handling of every aspect of it! Some project highlights include: - Utilizing Google's Place API to optimize EV roadtrip routing based on charge station data, including nearby options to pass the time while charging. - A chat agent capable of guiding customers through the not-so-simple task of placing a large catering order. - A virtual bartender that suggests drink recipes and makes on-the-fly adjustments based on the ingredients available.
