The ChatGPT bakeoff is done! Thanks to everyone that attended our talk yesterday at #Rewired25. I hope you all got a taste of the progress that has been made with AI in the past 12 months, and left with a mixture of excitement and cautious optimism. We covered progress in standard models, reasoning models, agents, and "vibe coding", following the tale of an imaginary 82 year old gentleman who had fallen in his home. We saw how the tone and contextualisation of advice has improved, but how subtle errors still remain. David Fearne chaired the panel and gave an excellent demo of Cognizant agentic AI system that made clear the importance of responsible AI use in clinical settings. I'm also delighted to have been sat alongside Professor Natasha Phillips and Dr Josh Au Yeung who brought specialist nursing and neurology insights to the mix. GenAI has enormous potential to help with healthcare, but we must never compromise on safety, effectiveness, equity, and sustainability. The challenge for us all is to strike the balance and minimise harm from the rapid rise of general use of consumer technology. Curistica is here to help the builders, the buyers, and the users - be they nurses, doctors, patients, or their families.

Cyber security took centre stage at #Rewired, as experts discussed the foundational steps needed to strengthen NHS cyber resilience. A key takeaway? It’s not a matter of if, but when - and we must be prepared. • Cyber is complex, but support is available. National cyber services protect the majority of NHS organisations from the vast majority of threats.  • Investment in cyber is investment in patient safety. Transparent discussions at Rewired showcased real-world examples of the impact when things go wrong. Strengthening infrastructure, IT, and security is essential to keeping services running. Mike Fell OBE, Executive Director of National Cyber Security Operations said: "The NHS England Cyber Operations team is continually evolving to address the ingenuity of cyber threats. We are here to collaborate and support the system, reinforcing the value of strong foundations to maintain vigilance." Catherine O'Keeffe, Deputy Director of Security, Cyber Operations said: "Cyber security is a team sport. Our collective skills, capability, and relationships across health and care allow us to defend as one. The Cyber Improvement Programme is delivering the 2030 vision, with new services rolling out soon."
