  • Ask a Blue Devil (https://brnw.ch/21wR7NF) is the perfect tool for both alumni and students to help one another! Current student Rui Sun shares: "During fall 2024, I was working on a consulting project for my Commercializing Technology Innovations class and needed to interview industry experts. The problem? I was assigned to precision medicine—a field I knew absolutely nothing about. I started by emailing 222 contacts from my professor’s list. No luck. Then I tried LinkedIn—still no responses. At that point, I was feeling pretty stuck. Then, I decided to give Ask a Blue Devil a shot—and within hours, everything changed. A Duke alum from the Class of ‘89 responded almost immediately. He worked at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and not only took the time to do an interview, but actually spent hours patiently walking me through the industry. And it didn’t stop there—soon, more Duke alumni reached out, offering their insights and support. Even after my project ended, I kept thinking about how incredible it was that total strangers were so willing to help—just because of the Duke connection. I’d always heard that Duke has a strong alumni network, but experiencing it firsthand was next-level. Honestly, Ask a Blue Devil saved me. I got the insights I needed, made valuable connections, and most importantly, felt a real sense of community. It’s something I’ll always be grateful for and will keep recommending to every Duke student and alum I meet!"

  • In case you missed it: 💙 For Valentine's week, we spread the love to some of our favorite spots on campus—Duke Chapel, Duke Libraries, the Nasher Museum of Art, and Sarah P. Duke Gardens! Students joined us to learn about philanthropy, write heartfelt poems, sip on cozy hot chocolate, and pick a beautiful bloom.

  • Within Duke's ranks, right now, we have the ideas necessary to cure the incurable, meet the challenge of climate change, and accelerate discoveries for a brighter future. But without you, those ideas will remain just that—ideas. We need your help to bring extraordinary Blue Devil ideas into a world that truly needs them. Whether we give through philanthropy, time, or expertise, collectively we have the power to advance Duke’s global value and impact. You are one of us, and we are MADE FOR THIS.
