At EAB, our partnerships with thousands of K-12 schools, community colleges, four-year universities, and employers give us unique insight into the progress and outcomes of each generation of students. Recently, colleagues across EAB have become increasingly concerned about what we perceive to be this decade’s (and perhaps this generation’s) defining challenge: academic and socioemotional readiness in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today... 💭 Around 33% of K12 students are chronically absent 💭 About 42% of ACT-takers didn’t meet the college-readiness benchmarks 💭 42% of high school students report feeling persistently sad or hopeless, 1.5% higher than just a decade ago. Gain research and insight into the student readiness crisis and how these sectors can tackle readiness gaps. #K12 #LearningLoss #College #HigherEd

Given financial pressures, every campus unit is being asked to reduce costs. Labor is a major component of academic affairs budgets, so leaders are unlikely to find substantial savings without looking at instructional efficiency, faculty capacity, and faculty headcount. While making decisions in these areas can be particularly difficult, the costs of inaction are too high to ignore. Use this resource to educate stakeholders on short-term savings options, assess what their institution is (and is not) willing to do to increase efficiency within the academy, and develop a more realistic savings strategy. https://bit.ly/41RPG24 #HigherEdResearch #HigherEdStrategy #HigherEdLeadership

In fall 2024, we surveyed more than 160 advancement leaders about the biggest challenges facing their teams. 54% of all respondents ranked staffing shortages as a top three challenge, VPs notably selected it less than AVPs and Directors. This suggests that AVPs and Directors are feeling the strain more – likely because they’re closer to the day-to-day work and often the ones stepping in to cover gaps when positions are vacant. Get the full picture and explore the interesting disconnects between leadership roles and what that means for how advancement teams work together. #AdvancementLeaders #Advancement #HigherEdAdvancement #HigherEd
