We believe in cultivating joy in difficult times. While the road ahead may not be easy for survivors of the LA wildfires, we can do our part to help our communities come together to enjoy a sense of normalcy amid uncertainties. This past weekend, we joined with the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles at the Collins & Katz Family YMCA to host a Day of Play—a special event for families affected by the Southern California wildfires. Our associate volunteers spent the morning creating that special space, which included obstacle courses, face painting, arts and crafts and a hands-on financial literacy workshop. We look forward to more such events as we continue to rebuild stronger, together. #EWBcommunities #EastWestBank #YMCA #WildfireRecovery

In the wake of the Eaton wildfire, many evacuees fled their homes with little more than their phones, making it difficult to complete online forms for assistance, find long-term housing, and access programs offering food and other necessities. Thus arose a coalition of tech companies, headed by Human-I-T, to provide laptops to displaced residents this weekend, in addition to free mobile hotspots and tech support. 💻 Our own Memo Inal, SVP - Director of IT, and Kelly Lin, VP-IT SOX Project Manager II, led the charge for East West to support this effort spearheaded by Thomas Phelps, CIO and SVP of Corporate Strategy at Laserfiche, and Phillip Ramón Leclair, CIO for the City of Pasadena. Many thanks to the other organizations participating in this event, including CORE, UNITE-LA, Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) and YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles! 📌 Donate funds and/or laptops here: https://lnkd.in/e34GUyrs 🔗 Access SoCal wildfire recovery resources: https://lnkd.in/geTHZJYU #HumanIT #EWBCommunities #EastWestBank #TechForGood #WildfireRecovery #EatonFire #DenaStrong

As part of our long-standing partnership with San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity, we are delighted to be the Title Sponsor of this year’s Women Rebuild, held today in El Sereno, CA. Fittingly, today is also International Women’s Day, a time for all of us to roll up our sleeves and work together for gender equality. This year, Women Rebuild is dedicated to supporting families displaced by the devastating LA wildfires by rehabbing properties in El Sereno that will house survivors who cannot afford to rebuild in Altadena. #EWBcommunities #WildfireRecovery #SGVHabitatforHumanity #EWBStrong #DenaStrong #InternationalWomensDay #AccelerateAction

This month's art calendar feature is Dominique Fung's "Gardening Season" (2020). Apropos of Women's History Month, Fung's surrealist works critique narratives of objectification of Asian women and Orientalism. Other works of hers can be seen at our corporate banking center, including "Will You Keep Singing?" (2021) and "Lay Your Head on My Pillow" (2021). This year, the East West Bank Art Program celebrates its 20th anniversary. Some of our latest acquisitions are featured in this year's calendar, which you can pick up from one of our branches.
