🎻 You waited months and months to see your favorite solo violinist perform, but then the performer unfortunately got sick and a comparable replacement could not be found. As unpleasant as that is, it can also happen with your ETRM! Well, hiring a soloist, an individual ETRM consultant, might seem like the best move but they also carry similar risks. What happens if they get sick, take vacation, or decide to move on? Your trading operations quickly hit a snag and leave your team scrambling to pick up the pieces. 🤵🤵🤵♀️ That’s why depending on an orchestra is the way to go. No single consultant carries the weight of the entire performance on their backs. If one consultant is unavailable, there’s always someone else who can seamlessly take over, ensuring continuous support. An ETRM consulting firm works in the same way - each member brings specialized expertise to the table. And unlike solo consultants, the firm is well-equipped with the right certifications, insurance, and long-term commitment to your business. When you are trying to harmonize your trading activities, wouldn't you rather have a well-coordinated ensemble behind you? #ETRMconsulting #Continuity #RiskManagement #TradingTechnologyExperts

💡 Ever wonder what keeps an ETRM system running smoothly? Yes, tech is one thing, but it would all crumble without the people behind it. At ETRM Services, we’re lucky to have some of the best in the business, and Ima Tyagi is one of them. She’s been with us for 15 years, tackling complex problems and solving them. Naturally, we had to pick her brain about her career, what’s changed in ETRM over the years, and what keeps her excited about the job: 1️⃣ What brought you into the field of ETRM? Ima: I was lucky enough to be part of a training program early in my career that introduced me to the ETRM market. My first project was on an Endur upgrade, and from there, I was hooked. 2️⃣ What ETRM systems have you worked with? I: Most of my exposure has been with Endur, but I’ve worked on other ETRM products like Allegro and Previse, and I love staying connected to emerging technologies. 3️⃣ What do you love most about your job? I: It’s fascinating and there’s always something new to learn with each client. ETRM isn’t just about coding; it’s about business strategy, problem-solving. I am also lucky to have great team members and management is non-hierarchal so it’s a very friendly and open atmosphere. 4️⃣ Any advice for those looking to join ETRM Services? I: Don’t expect a flashy corporate culture. You can look forward to a place where your work speaks for itself. If you’re passionate, proactive, and open to learning, you’ll feel at home here. 5️⃣ What are some of your hobbies outside of work? I: I love watching movies and series that are related to politics, like Homeland. And, of course, I watch Marvel movies with my son. I’ve also been reconnecting with my creative side through doing crafts with my son. 🙏 Thank you, Ima for sticking with us for so long! Your journey is a testament to how curiosity and a great team can shape a career. Want to be part of a company where learning never stops? Send us a PM and let’s talk! #MeetTheTeam #CareerJourney #TradingTechnologyExperts

⚓ Being a solo ETRM consultant can feel like captaining your own ship; you choose the destination, chart the route, and often enjoy better returns. But at the same time, it never stops being tricky: You’re also the one in charge of navigation, onboard logistics, client management, and handling unforeseen storms - all on your own. It can be exhilarating, but it also has risks, especially when a client’s ramp-up takes longer or you’ve accepted too many projects, you quickly can feel lost at sea. 💭 What you then may sometimes wish for is a dedicated team structure that prevents these pitfalls by providing a steady pipeline of clients, resource support, training programs, certifications (including ISO 27001) and knowledge sharing with other ETRM experts. However, you would never want to give up the benefits of freelancing as you may want better earning potential, more flexibility and room to grow? That's why we've built our approach on exactly these principles: Our pay is tied to the value you bring, work setups can be tailored to personal style, and career progress is fully supported. ⏫ Our low employee turnover rate makes the best case for this, as it's only a fraction of the consulting industry average. One in five of our team members has even been with us for more than ten years. 🧭 Want to maintain your independence but also be backed up with the tools and security you’d expect from a top-tier ETRM consultancy? Get in touch. We’d be happy to talk. #TradingTechnologyExperts

👨🚀 Mission accomplished! We are now ISO 27001 certified. While this undertaking may not have been as taxing as a moon landing, we still took a giant leap in our commitment to cybersecurity and data protection. So why does this certification matter? 🚀 With stricter security controls, customer data is protected even more. 🚀 Compliance is simplified by reducing paperwork for customers and auditors. 🚀 Security protocols are constantly monitored and improved to stay ahead of any and all cyberthreats. Over nearly two years, our team revamped policies, implemented new controls, and continuously improved security measures. As John Streett, who was part of our certification team, puts it: "Customers, auditors, and insurance companies consistently ask for ISO 27001. Having this certification not only streamlines the process but also reinforces trust in our security practices." And the work isn't done once the certification is acquired! ISO 27001 requires continuous monitoring and recertification, meaning that we will always stay ahead of constantly changing cybersecurity threats. #InformationSecurity #RiskManagement #Cybersecurity

✈️ They say time flies - and for European day-ahead energy markets, it's about to fly faster than ever. Starting June 11, 2025, the day-ahead coupled auction will switch from 60-minute to 15-minute market time units in all Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) bidding zones and for all bidding zone borders (other than Ireland, which will remain at 30-minute granularity). The change impacts almost all Nominated Electricity Market Operators in SDAC: EPEX SPOT, Nord Pool, Bursa Română de Mărfuri, BSP Energy Exchange LL C, CROATIAN POWER EXCHANGE Ltd. (CROPEX), EXAA Energy Exchange Austria, GME - ITALIAN POWER EXCHANGE, HEnEx (enexgroup), HUPX Hungarian Power Exchange Ltd., IBEX (Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange), OMI - Polo Español (OMIE), OKTE, OTE, a.s., Polish Power Exchange (TGE) The smaller granularity has many benefits, creating consistency among European energy markets, contributing to greater grid stability and enabllng better integration of renewables, which experience generation variations within the hour. Many ETRM systems have been built for hourly time periods - this used to be enough. But given the vital role that day-ahead data plays, as the main index for index price forward deals, it's urgent for the ETRM system to be updated to handle the new granularity: ✅ Capture 15-minute forward trading positions ✅ Capture 15-minute prices to settle indexed deals and mark positions ✅ Capture auction awards from the revised market formats We're working ahead to help our customers prepare their systems for this shift, ensuring that their data remains accurate and reliable. ❓ Will your ETRM be ready in time? Thanks to the All NEMO Committee - Market Coupling Steering Committee for the map! #EnergyMarkets #PricingData #MarketCoupling #ETRM

🏃♂️ We tried to track down Gunnar van Fessem at E-world energy & water, but he was moving so fast from meeting to meeting that we could barely spot him! Can you find him in this crowd? We know for a fact that he was somewhere among the masses, as he spent two jam-packed days in Essen, catching up with old friends and former colleagues. Between meetings with ETRM vendors, partners and customers, he says it felt like every few steps someone was waving him down for a quick “long time no see!” 👋 Here are a couple of highlights from his whirlwind tour: Everybody’s eye is on automated workflows and data-driven decision-making. It’s clear digitalization is no longer a “nice-to-have” - it is now very much the new standard. Vendors are also pushing more agile, modular solutions. Integration and flexible hosting seem to be the talk of the show. Cloud-based, real-time capabilities are everywhere. Of course, you can’t survive E-world without a pit stop (or a pint!) at the Montel stand. Gunnar might’ve briefly contemplated hitting the loud Montel party but decided to save his voice (and eardrums) for more meaningful conversations. Glad he did, as instead he got some interesting outlooks on hydrogen, LNG, and battery storage. For traders, risk management and market design changes were especially hot topics. This year's E-world was (again) a fantastic chance to reconnect, trade stories, and get the latest on what’s hot in energy and IT. 🔥 If you missed Gunnar in Essen but still want to chat about ETRM solutions, system integration, or managed services, feel free to reach out here on LinkedIn. He’ll make sure to fill you in on all the juicy details - minus the Montel party noise, of course. #Eworld2025 #TradingTechnologyExperts

🎨 Everybody is talking about Picasso again? Matter of fact, it’s not Pablo, but PICASSO - Europe’s real-time balancing platform that recently has been a hot topic in the energy world. Despite PICASSO being around for a while, it’s only recently gained widespread industry attention. Why now? What’s changing? And how are TSOs adapting to it - successfully or not? Time2Market - Market Management Services’s Paul Pontenagel breaks it all down, from the role of automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR) to the challenges TSOs face when integrating into the system. Read his full article to understand: ✅ Why PICASSO is critical for Europe’s balancing markets ✅ The mixed results TSOs have experienced so far ✅ What’s next as more countries join by 2025

We’re happy to share that our man with a plan Gunnar van Fessem is now officially a member of our partnership team! 🎉 Gunnar, who has been with ETRMServices since the very beginning, has been at the heart of our growth - bringing in new customers, expanding projects, and building bridges between IT and business in energy trading.
