  • Join FOLX team members Kate Steinle and Haley E. along with award-winning journalist Erin Reed as they break
down the latest developments in transgender
healthcare. Today, a federal judge temporarily blocked an executive order targeting gender-affirming care for trans youth (including 18-year-olds), but the halt is only in effect for two weeks. The situation is evolving daily. This event will help you understand what’s happening, and how you and your organization can continue supporting your trans teammates and family members in this shifting landscape. https://lnkd.in/g6zzeYYS

Many LGBTQIA+ patients have had terrible experiences with healthcare providers. FOLX Health, a digital platform, is offering safe, affirming care for its members. Liana M. Douillet Guzmán (she/her), CEO of FOLX Health, talked with us about the company's growth, concerns about the incoming Trump administration, and why she's still optimistic. “We were founded with a vision to create a different version of healthcare and a specific focus on doing it for the LGBTQIA+ community,” she says.

  • For many in our community, today feels heavy—but we want you to know: We’re still here. Across Texas, Florida, Georgia, California, and NYC, our billboards share messages of resilience and hope. If you see one, tag us! Let it serve as a reminder: We’re still here for you—and we aren't going anywhere.

  • The next four years will demand resilience and strength, and we want you to know: We’re still here. We’re still here for affirming health care. We’re still here to fight for equal protections. We’re still here to celebrate queer and trans joy. Thank you to our members, clinicians and friends for uniting with us. Featuring Liana M. Douillet Guzmán (she/her) , Kate Steinle, Haley Collins, Chris Mosier, Madison Werner, and so many members of our community.

  • In today’s news to know: a study published in JAMA Pediatrics, co-authored by FOLX Health researcher Jae Corman, PhD, provides critical insights into the prevalence of gender-affirming medical care among U.S. adolescents. The study analyzed insurance data from 2018 to 2022, finding that fewer than 1 in 1,000 adolescents received puberty blockers or hormones during this period. These findings highlight the rarity of such treatments and underscore the importance of data-driven discussions in the current landscape of transgender youth healthcare. At FOLX Health, we remain committed to advancing inclusive, evidence-based care for the LGBTQ+ community. https://lnkd.in/gzXPiG8e #TransgenderHealth #GenderAffirmingCare #LGBTQHealth #FOLXHealth #InclusiveHealthcare

  • Now more than ever, employers must take meaningful action to create workplaces that are not only inclusive but actively supportive of LGBTQIA+ employees. This means investing in comprehensive benefits, affirming policies, and professional development programs that empower queer and trans talent to thrive. As our Chief People Officer, Greg Sottolano, points out, “The bottom line is it’s super scary right now out there for the queer community. We’ve seen that just in how it has manifested here within FOLX. The company has seen a 70% uptick in clinical visits and a similar increase in the number of people who have reactivated their Folx memberships.” Employers that fail to prioritize these critical supports risk losing their LGBTQIA+ talent to companies that will. At FOLX, we remain steadfast in our commitment to our community. Our team has shown up, and will continue to, for everyone who needs critical, life-saving care. https://lnkd.in/gWYG6NFw

  • At FOLX, LGBTQIA+ healthcare is personal. This election was deeply personal. And the effects will be deeply felt for the next many years. We remain committed to fighting for LGBTQIA+ rights, offering holistic mental health care and gender-affirming care, and being a pillar of support for the entire LGBTQIA+ community. We’ve been here before, and we’ll keep showing up—no matter what. We're here for you.

  • In the wake of the election, and a campaign with unprecedented spending on anti-trans ads, and the ever-increasing legislative threats against LGBTQIA+ healthcare, we know that many in our community are feeling devastated and anxious today. Here at FOLX Health, we’re taking action to ensure that our community has the support we need, right when we need it. FOLX was founded because LGBTQIA+ people have always been underserved by mainstream healthcare. In times like these it is ever more clear that our mission is critical and necessary. We at FOLX will continue to do everything we can to provide holistic care and ensure our continued access to the healthcare we deserve. Here are some of our offerings. Therapist-facilitated support spaces: We have guided meditations, open sharing spaces, and anxiety-coping tools, led by our LGBTQIA+ specialized therapists. Community chats: We’ve been running 24/7 chats in the FOLX Community Platform —a safe space for thousands of community members to share and support one another, about the election, or anything else that comes up. Mental health resources: We’ve put together a roundup of coping strategies, mental health services, and tips for managing election-related anxiety. Expansion of therapy services: We are now offering therapy in 9 states, and are working to swiftly get to all 50. This growth is part of our expansion into comprehensive mental health services in light of the political climate and existing health disparities. At FOLX, we’re as committed as ever to fighting for trans rights, offering gender-affirming care and holistic mental health care, and being a pillar of support for the LGBTQIA+ community. We’ve been here before, and we’ll keep showing up—no matter what. 💪 When times are tough, taking action is a balm, and we are grateful to be a resource for so many LGBTQIA+ employees nationwide via our employer partners. Reach out if you or your team needs extra support. #LGBTQIA #TransRights #GenderAffirmingCare #MentalHealthSupport #HealthcareEquality #FOLX
