Gensler worked with Metropolitan Hospitality Group to reimagine a former Balducci’s grocery store into two distinct venues: Open Road Distillery and Heirloom. The design approach drew inspiration from the distilling process – Preparation, Distilling, and Bottling – to create a seamless blend of craft, functionality, and elevated experiences. Purposeful back-of-house spaces were designed to optimize operations, reflecting an energetic, raw atmosphere with materials like oak, brick, and copper, celebrating the craft of spirit production. 📍Reston, VA | 📸 Wendell Weithers #Restaurant #Design #Hospitality

Louisiana State University’s football recovery suite renovation and expansion is a game-changer for the players and the program. Winning was imminent for Gensler’s first project with the athletic department, having successfully delivered academic spaces for the university and a similar project when the team’s head trainer was with the New Orleans Saints. More like a hotel spa than a university sports medicine facility, the new suite addresses student-athletes' wellness beyond typical treatment and recovery. The focus on nurturing the body, mind, and spirit creates an intentional hospitality-inspired atmosphere. ©Gensler, 📸Ryan Conway #Sports #SportsDesign #Facilities

Gensler is thrilled to show off our transformation of the New York Yankees’ spring training facility in Tampa, Florida! George M. Steinbrenner Field is the Yankees’ home away from home, so it was crucial that the space was designed with the team’s storied past and limitless future in mind. The design blends New York’s iconic energy with Florida’s vibrant atmosphere through thoughtful elements—subtle pinstripe lighting fixtures, larger-than-life logo installations, and subway car-inspired graphics that pay homage to the team’s roots while encouraging movement throughout the space. ⚾ #SportsDesign #Biophilia #Yankees
