Great River Energy VP and CFO Michelle Strobel: As a cooperative, we operate our business at cost, collecting only what we need to serve our members and meet our financial obligations. Over time, we return those dollars entrusted to us by our members in the form of patronage capital payments.

Great River Energy, ITC Midwest and Xcel Energy recently filed Notice of Intent to Construct, Own and Maintain a new 765-kilovolt (kV) electric transmission line project with the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. This new transmission backbone will meet the significant growth in electricity use projected in the coming decades and improve access to new energy sources needed to serve communities throughout the region.
