🌟 Exciting Day for the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce Community! 🌟 Yesterday, we celebrated two fantastic ribbon-cutting events that genuinely showcased the spirit of collaboration and community involvement. 🎉 First, we joined American Pride Bank in Alpharetta, Georgia, to commemorate the grand opening of its fifth location! It was inspiring to see over 100 guests come together to support this milestone. A special thank you to the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce for partnering with us to make this celebration even more impactful. 💖 We also had the pleasure of welcoming Thrive Medical Spa in Milton, Georgia, where we celebrated the arrival of Stephanie Farber, MD of Stephanie Farber Plastic Surgery in association with Thrive Medical Spa, along with her family and friends. Witnessing the magical and glamorous ribbon cutting was a reminder of how businesses can enhance our community. These events highlight the importance of getting involved and supporting local businesses. Together, we can create a vibrant and thriving community that benefits us all! As Government Community Affairs Manager for the City of Roswell, Georgia, Katrina, recently honored with the GNFCC BOLD Businesswoman on the Rise Award, shared how her team is transforming economic development through a refreshingly entrepreneurial approach. "Mayor Wilson gave us permission to fail," she explained about their groundbreaking Czech Republic trade mission. "But if you're going to fail, do it with excellence." This mindset has yielded remarkable results: • Securing PBS Aerospace, a 200-year-old Czech company bringing high-paying manufacturing jobs • Creating a "white glove" concierge program for business development that's becoming their competitive advantage • Attracting two professional soccer franchises with plans for an entertainment district larger than The Battery • Positioning Roswell as a hub for "the weird part of AI" in healthcare What's most instructive is Katrina's relationship-focused approach. When meeting the Czech Republic's consulate, she recognized an overlooked opportunity where others saw challenges. "We are here to complement, not compete," she emphasized about Roswell's relationship with neighboring cities. The lesson? Sometimes the most significant growth comes from markets others have dismissed as too small or complex. By bringing business principles to government and focusing on relationships first, Katrina's team is creating a blueprint other communities would be wise to study. Public recognition is NOT my main language of appreciation, but I'll also never pass up the opportunity to share the mission of Atlanta Angels Nonprofit to a room full of people! Truly, I am so honored and humbled to be chosen as the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce's recipient of the Dedicated to Good Businesswoman award, and I'll share here the gist of what I shared from the stage. This work has never been about me or because of me. After bringing home our daughter from the Cherokee County courthouse about 9.5 years ago (and finalizing her adoption 2 years later) and learning more and more about the outcomes for children who remain in the system, I couldn't NOT do something. Like my daughter is, I deeply believe that every child deserves to know that they are loved, valued, and worthy, and Atlanta Angels helps make that possible. This work has always been about the kids and the adults who care for them. And the hundreds of kids that we've been able to support so far is not because of me, but because of my incredible, dedicated team and the thousands of community members and companies who have stepped up to give of their time and resources to make our work possible.
