How does Gulf Coast JFCS support the community? By listening and by showing up. Thank you Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg for opening up your recent Data Walk. Bob Lowrey, a Gulf Coast JFCS grant writer, was there to report back on the service gaps and needs for South St. Petersburg residents - and make it into event coverage by St. Pete Catalyst - https://bit.ly/4iZteLe Photo: Community attendees of Data Walk

Social work is compassion + action! Gulf Coast JFCS leadership stood alongside 27 Network of Jewish Human Service Agencies partner agencies from 17 states to share how federal legislation is making an impact locally with over 100 Hill offices and leaders in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Faith Office. Alongside MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger, Lutheran Services in America, HIAS, and National Council of Jewish Women, members of The Network provided updates to our elected officials and reaffirmed our collective commitment to uplift lives by providing ongoing critical food insecurity support, workforce development & behavioral health services, and refugee support to our communities. Together, we are compassion in action! #socialworkmonth #compassioninaction #livesuplifted #strongertogether

📻 This morning, WUSF Public Broadcasting's Nancy Guan shed light on how Gulf Coast JFCS and our partners at Radiant Hands, Inc. are meeting the moment while grappling with the continuing issue of the refugee admissions cease services order. Despite the growing challenges, our dedicated teams continue to support our clients through your generosity and support. 📘 👂 : https://bit.ly/4bL5vfl

Helping the community starts with answering the call. In the summer of 2023, our CALL program did just that when the Food Insecurity Team (FIT) called asking for connections to local resources. Thank you to the Food Insecurity Team for recognizing our CALL program leadership and staff for helping more than 3,000 families since our partnership began.

Social work is more than a job — it’s compassion in action and a way of life. Gulf Coast JFCS is compassion in action. From empowering careers & sustainable employment through Tampa Bay Job Links, to advocating for youth in foster care through the Heart Gallery of Pinellas & Pasco, to caring for our seniors at Myrtle Oaks and Egret Housing, to caring for each other through our Stronger Together committee - social work is addressing the needs of the moment. #SocialWorkMonth #CompassionPlusAction #compassioninaction #livesuplifted
