About us
Hunger Busters is a Dallas-based charity focused on feeding kids and fueling futures by providing a much-needed third meal of the day to food-insecure children in Dallas Independent School District through its signature "Feed the Need" after school program. Hunger Busters will provides 350,000 meals to 11 DISD schools and 6 after school programs. With the help of committed volunteers, continuing and new partners and donors, Hunger Busters will take a big bite out of Dallas’ childhood hunger epidemic. Hunger Busters is a non-profit organization that receives private donations. We operate on private funding along with corporate grants. Over 145,000 (92%) of the children attending Dallas schools rely on school-subsidized breakfast and/or lunch as their only resource for food. All too often, these children go without dinner. Many of them have nothing to eat from school lunch one day until school breakfast the next. Hungry children are twice as likely to be absent from school than their peers not suffering from hunger. Research consistently shows that increasing the nutrition of a food-insecure child improves health, educational performance, and the opportunity to grow into a civic-minded adult. This recognition is a testament to the work we do every day to fight food insecurity and ensure children in our community receive the meals they need to thrive. During the last week of January I was out of pocket competing in a Business/Entrepreneur Competition. The show tested our Business's existing systems and protocols while testing our ability to adapt our in a fun unique way. After a week of early mornings and late nights, I am proud to announce that out of 103 competitors, Hunger Busters won 'Most Impactful Business'. I was blown away because I felt there were dozens of other Entrepreneurs that could've taken that title! Thank you The Blox, Weston Bergmann, all the judges, the 102 other competitors but most importantly the team and board of Hunger Busters that makes the organization awesome!

We’re expanding with a state-of-the-art facility designed to serve as a community hub - a place where local organizations are in one location to specifically support our Dallas families in need.
