This week at Chatham House I had the privilege of chairing - well ringmaster and jester duties really - the final session of the Climate and Energy Summit 2025. Data-driven adaptation planning, AI, methane-busting via graphene from captured carbon, grid resilience, the UK's deepest geothermal well and the first deep well in two generations. We were able to have the chat not under the Rule, so I can share it with you as a Wicked Problems - Climate Tech Conversations special episode as video and audio! Four climate tech innovation leaders pitched the audience and expert panelists Marisa Drew (Standard Chartered), Fiona Harvey (The Guardian) and Peter Hirsch (2150) grilled the presenters. There was a decent amount of friendly fire, but thankfully not with live rounds. Julia Kumari Drapkin advancing adaptation planning by combining human insight with sensor data at ISeeChange, Taco Engelaar from Neara on AI-powered enhancements to grid resilience, and John Hartley from Levidian on their LOOP capture method turning fugitive emissions into useful materials. Augusta Grand and Lucy Cotton who shared insights on their enhanced geothermal solutions from Eden Geothermal Limited. We also got into whether the term "#climatetech" is still a thing, or as Freya Pratty and I discussed on an earlier episode, those running away from the term were just ahead of the DOGE Trump purge. I loved Fiona's reply to the question, in the clip here: Chatham House Events Amy Claire McFie Sacha Chapman Watch it all here: https://lnkd.in/e5Wm9NaY #CHClimateEnergy
