Jeanne Laveta Noble was an esteemed educator and scholar who dedicated her career to advancing education and civil rights. She served on education commissions under Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Gerald Ford and was the first Black woman to serve on the U.S. President’s Commission on Higher Education.
