❕MISD Does Not Determine The Value of Your Property❕ The locally-elected School Board sets the school property tax rate each year, but the district does not determine the market value of homes and business property within the district. Values are determined each year by the Montgomery Central Appraisal District. To learn more, visit https://lnkd.in/dj9cVSTZ

Where does Magnolia ISD get its funding? 💰❓ Public schools receive three main sources of revenue: local, state, and federal. The largest portion of Magnolia ISD’s revenue comes from local sources like tax collections. 🏡 The average taxable value in MISD is $435,000. If you reduce that amount by the $100,000 homestead exemption = $335,000 taxable value. This means the total taxes due on a $335,000 home ($0.9595 per $100 assessed valuation) = $3,214. 💵 Of that total, $2,250 (70%) goes to the Maintenance & Operations budget and $964 (30%) goes to the Interest & Sinking budget. ✨📚 This week at Magnolia Junior High, students put their skills to the test—literally! 📝 They tackled interims, benchmarks, and state tests, showing off their hard work and dedication. But the learning didn’t stop there! On non-testing days, students hit the gyms for whole-grade review sessions, collaborating and competing in fun, interactive activities across multiple subjects. 🎯💡 These engaging sessions helped them prepare for next week’s District Common Assessments while making learning more exciting!
