Transforming the Future of Energy Storage
About us
Malta Inc. has developed a thermo-electric energy storage system that sets a new standard in the industry. Malta’s Steam Energy Management and Storage (SEMS), powered by a high-performance heat pump and steam as a working fluid, stores thermal energy in molten salt. This energy can be reconverted into power and heat on demand, offering a versatile solution that addresses long-duration energy storage needs—from 8 hours to multi-day– at grid scale.

It was an honor for Malta Inc. to be invited last week to "Meeting 24/7 Demand for Industrial Heat and Power Supply Through Thermal Storage Power Plants – A US-German Dialogue," a workshop hosted by the Embassy of Germany in Washington, D.C., and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Kevin Stone, our VP of Engineering, represented Malta Inc., presenting Malta SEMS, our #LDES #PHES solution that provides both heat and power in a single, flexible, cost-efficient and scalable system. Thank you to our hosts for facilitating this important discussion.
Together with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), we hosted the transatlantic workshop "Creating Opportunities—The Solution to a Successful Energy Transition," aimed at actively involving German companies in the green transformation in the United States. The event centered around the topic of renewable, flexible, secure, cost-effective, and domestically produced energy from thermal storage power plants. Minister Jean P. Froehly, Head of Economic and Finacial Affairs at the German Embassy Washington, DC, welcomed participants to the workshop, emphasizing the importance of US-German collaboration in the global energy transition and highlighting the excellent opportunity to share current research findings and identify opportunities for implementation in the American market. Representatives from German companies presented innovative business ideas and opportunities for cooperation, and US policymakers and research institutions shared their perspectives on climate and energy policies. Using this platform for dialogue, German and American entities exchanged insights on the latest research developments, exploring: ➡️ Opportunities for implementation in the American market and how to accelerate the climate-neutral transformation of industries ➡️ Strengthening partnerships between Germany and the US in energy, economy, and climate protection ➡️ Coordinating sustainability regulations to set global standards and avoid competitive disadvantages This full-day event facilitated a solution-oriented exchange on challenges the US and Germany face as we pursue a clean energy future together. #Energy #ThermalStorage
