Our BEE Award recognizes patient care techs (PCTs) and administrative care techs (ACTs) who deliver compassionate quality care to our patients. Congratulations to our most recent BEE Award winner – Susan Dasher in our Level III neonatal intensive care unit (unit). She was nominated by a patient’s family member. The nomination said, “She is always so personable; she asks about me and my baby and works to build relationships with the NICU families. Ms. Dasher went above and beyond by helping me with a cart to move my belongings to the Ronald McDonald House.” Susan, thank you for all you do for our patients, families and colleagues. We appreciate you! You can nominate a PCT or ACT at memsav.co/BEE.

March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., and yet it is one of the most preventable cancer with early detection? Dr. Elizabeth McKeown, Memorial Health colorectal surgeon, and members from our Anderson Cancer Institute visited the Habersham Branch YMCA to help spread the word on colon polyps, malignant polyps, colon cancer, and other colon health issues.

In the Community | Last night, our leaders joined in the fight against heart disease at the American Heart Association Southern Coast’s Heart Ball. We are proud to support this great cause through our Community Benefit Fund, which has contributed $1.75 million to worthwhile organizations.
