Gas Stations in Space™ - We are the satellite refueling service provider for LEO, GEO, and cislunar space.
About us
Orbit Fab envisions a thriving in-space market for products and services that support both existing space businesses (communications and Earth observation) and new industries like space tourism, manufacturing, and mining. The first step is achieving ubiquitous availability of satellite propellant in Earth orbit, expanding the operational potential of new and existing space assets and providing unprecedented business model flexibility for satellite owners. The future for satellites is no longer restricted to the fuel they are launched with. It is about getting the fuel and other materials they need, where and when they need it, to accomplish things never before thought possible.

All I want for Christmas is.. a RAFTI! Santa's helper (Calypso Kulasegram from our UK team) delivered a RAFTI, a ground coupling and a set of our fudicial docking markers to the Satellite Applications Catapult in time for Christmas. These Engineering Models will be installed in the Catapult ISAM Facility early next year to use in testing and development of UK satellite servicing missions. Merry Christmas to all our RAFTI customers 🎅 🚀

🌕 Our UK team is going to the moon! 🌕 Great news coming out of Luxembourg where we announced our participation in the Space Resources Accelerator with European Space Agency - ESA and European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC). Here are some details: 🌑 The project aims to test our #RAFTI interface in a lunar environment to autonomously refuel landers, rovers and other moon vehicles. 🌡️ The presence of regolith ("moon dust"), the wide variety of surface temperatures and different gravity on the moon are important factors to consider for lunar refuelling. 🌍 Our UK team will lead the lunar testing of our refuelling interfaces whilst our US team and partners push towards new methods of processing regolith into useable fuel. A bustling space economy will depend on fuel wherever it is - in orbit, on the moon or beyond. We are looking forward to taking this next step with our new partners. Thanks to Alex Godlewski for his support so far and the Luxembourg Space Agency for hosting us this week.
Today, European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC) announced the first cohort of the Space Resources Accelerator — six projects set to fast-track technologies shaping the future of #space exploration and in-situ resource utilisation (#ISRU). This innovative programme, part of the ESA BSGN | Business in Space Growth Network Industry Accelerators, empowers ventures to develop solutions for European Space Agency - ESA’s #lunar exploration efforts and the entire space resources value chain. During the programme, participants will refine their projects with in-kind support from ESRIC, aiming to launch co-funded projects by ESA that demonstrate their technologies in lunar conditions. Meet the first cohort and their projects: 🇩🇪 FibreCoat– High-performance materials for lunar infrastructure. 🇱🇺 Maana Electric – Solar resource production on the Moon. 🇵🇱 Orbital Matter – Additive manufacturing for lunar infrastructure. 🇬🇧 Orbit Fab UK – Fuel supply for orbital and lunar surface vehicles. 🇬🇧 Space Power – Power beaming and lunar dust mitigation. 🇨🇦 Volta Space Technologies – Wireless power transmission around the Moon. This milestone underscores ESRIC’s commitment to fostering innovation and scaling solutions from concept to deployment. 🚀 Together, we’re building the future of sustainable space exploration!

Great to see our UK team making the news!
🚨 Orbit Fab on the BBC! 🚨 We recently hosted the local BBC news team at our Harwell office. They reached out to learn more about orbital refuelling and wrote up this article - including their headline about Cosmic petrol stations! We don't actually do petrol but if you need Hydrazine, Xenon or other common satellite fuels we've got you covered.. Anyone in Southern England may also have seen us on local TV on Friday evening, featuring more detailed interviews with me, Tejaswi Tiruvuru and Mohammed Omar Raj, CEng. And a great close-up of Tiago Amaral's nose. I'll share a clip of the TV feature when it is available 📺 🛰 👃 Until then if you want to know more about what we do check out this BBC article: https://lnkd.in/edPnhe_5
