PSP staff are planning some exciting events for guests, like game nights and movie screenings, as part of our Family Engagement Program. But we need volunteer support to make these events happen! 🎲🎥 We’re looking for individuals or groups of four to assist our staff in facilitating these fun gatherings. Shifts will typically be on Friday evenings between 6:30PM – 9:30PM. To learn more and sign up, please email Nolan at volunteering@peopleservingpeople.org.

The folks at Experian are some of the many caring neighbors that donated in-kind goods to St. Anne’s Place last month. They also helped us with various projects, like deep cleaning our playroom and assembled shelving. We truly appreciate their efforts! 🫶🏽 #ThankfulThursday

Whether our children are seeking a tutor or simply a buddy to play games with, they can rely on our wonderful CCEL volunteers. We felt so grateful and proud to receive this recent feedback from a former guest: “I feel like everything is provided that we need here. I've never seen a place that helps out with so many things, it has changed my view on shelters!” 😍 #MissionMonday #MissionMoment

We're thrilled to introduce you to Kristen Wheeler Highland, our new Director of Early Childhood Education. She comes to People Serving People with 43 years of experience in the early education field! Since Kristen joined our team in the fall, she's been working hard to strengthen our early childhood development program (ECDP) at our downtown shelter and the Center of Excellence. 🏫 “I want the early childhood programs that People Serving People has, I want them to be the bar people measure other childcare programs against," said Kristen. "...I believe, also, in de-institutionalizing childcare as much as we can.” You can learn more about Kristen's background and her vision for ECDP in our upcoming e-newsletter! Make sure you're subscribed by going to loom.ly/tEuQwCw.

Yesterday marked one year since we announced to the public that People Serving People would be accepting the gift of St. Anne’s Place! In honor of this anniversary, Amanda Finman-Palmer (Advancement Director) wrote a letter reflecting on how community support impacted St. Anne’s Place over the past year. Please give this letter a read if you’re interested in helping the women and children at our North Minneapolis shelter: loom.ly/XfkJ2yo. 💛💜💛

Did you know that 70 ½ is the age you need to be eligible for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), which is essentially a tax-free donation from an IRA to a charity of your choice? A QCD can satisfy all or part of your annual required distribution from your IRA account. If this is a tool you’d like to learn more about, talk to your tax professional or email giving@peopleservingpeople.org to chat with one of our gift officers! #WiseGivingWednesday #WednesdayWisdom
