Should this be something the US and its allies need to be worried about? Is this already mitigated by a US sub-surface advantage? Future advanced Australian sub-surface capabilities? Does a ship like this offer an off-axis threat to Taiwan, which might complicate air defense plans and therefore something to be nervous about?

Special thanks to Naval Post Graduate School for hosting this special event.
#ProjectEverest joined with #AirForce #Pathfinders and USAF Air Command and Staff College Fellows (#ACSC) at Naval Post-Graduate School for an intensive week-long workshop on #geoeconomics. While the overall objective of the event was to deepen participants' understanding of geoeconomics broadly—and #PRC geoeconomics specifically—the workshop also set out to analyze and address unique yet interconnected #challenges drawn from the #DAF Platform for Private & Interagency Coordination (D-PPIC) project. Through a focused program of #academic exploration, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and #strategic analysis, each team (in-person & virtual) examined key geo-economic areas affecting current DAF strategies, identifying key #challenges and opportunities, and proposing actionable, targeted #strategies for advancement. Rather than viewing each play in isolation, teams #explored their cross-cutting interdependencies, ensuring a holistic understanding of how these initiatives collectively support #nationalsecurity, economic #resilience, and #technological #leadership. This workshop represents a deliberate first step in an ongoing process—a foundation upon which deeper analysis, refined strategies, and iterative implementation will be built. Their initial findings are not static conclusions but living recommendations, designed to evolve through continued collaboration across government, private sector, and allied partners, driving meaningful progress toward the overarching objectives of the D-PPIC initiative.
