This critical legislation seeks to incentivize California businesses to provide student loan repayment assistance by offering a tax credit of up to $3,000 per full-time employee annually. Tax-free educational assistance is vital to strengthening upskilling and reskilling opportunities, developing skill pipelines that allow employers to attract and keep the best talent, and positioning California and the United States to compete globally by building a skilled and educated workforce.
