We build mutually beneficial partnerships that uplift our community and are committed to delivering award-winning projects that exceed expectations. Since 1958, T.W. Frierson has partnered with hundreds of companies to build state of the art manufacturing facilities, corporate headquarters, logistics centers, churches, as well as renovations, build outs, and disaster recovery projects. T.W. Frierson was founded in 1958 by Mr. Ted Frierson who ran a small, well respected, contracting business until retirement in 1971. At that time, Mr. Ernest Taylor and Mr. Jim Nolen purchased the business from Mr. Frierson and ran it as an equal partnership until 1973. Ernest’s friend, Winston Hickman, joined the growing company, beginning a three-way partnership that lasted until Mr. Nolan’s retirement in 1985. Coinciding with our 50th Anniversary, Ernest and Winston owned the company together before selling to each of their sons, Dean Taylor and Del Hickman in 2008. Recognizing the tremendous benefits of employee ownership, Dean and Del began the process of selling TWF to its employees in 2016. Since then, we have transitioned from a 2nd generation family owned business to a 100% employee owned business. Our employee ownership structure drives our team to succeed, and nurtures a unique culture through encouragement, empowerment, and investing in our employees.

We are proud to partner with Church of the City on the 47,146 SF expansion of their Franklin, TN campus. This project will introduce three new buildings for administration and community gatherings, along with enhanced parking, a new courtyard, and improved water management systems for sustainability. A new campus entrance will also improve access and traffic flow, creating a more welcoming experience for all.

In the wake of the devastating 2023 tornado in Madison, TN, T.W. Frierson is honored to support the restoration of St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church. This 16,600 square foot reconstruction will consist of a new gymnasium and classroom complex. Del Perry explains the intricacy and detail of the Brentwood United Methodist Project on this quarter’s Safety Spotlight Podcast. This project required a massive, engineered platform scaffold to create a safe and stable working surface, spanning 128 feet by 120 feet at a height of 54 feet—providing an impressive 16,000 square feet of workspace inside the sanctuary. To ensure the highest safety standards, the structure includes two material hoists enclosed with handrails, fall protection anchor points, and daily inspections by our trained competent persons.
