If you want to improve #internationaldevelopment, you have to look inward. As many of you have discussed with me in this space, there has often been very little $ to measure impact and improve the effectiveness of development work. So when Bain & Co made a $2 billion pro bono commitment to the social sector, TechnoServe jumped at the chance to improve our own effectiveness. Partnering with Bain on various initiatives since 2019 has helped us identify, improve, and scale our most effective approaches to fighting #poverty. This contributed to our impact growing by 40% in the first two years after working with them on our new strategy. Why does this matter? We owe it to our donors and partners to return the maximum impact from every dollar invested in our work. But more than that -- we owe the most effective, long-term poverty solutions to our clients: the small-scale #farmers and #entrepreneurs, the dreamers and doers, who fight tough odds every day to build a better future. (That strong return on investment continues in 2024: For every $1 invested in a TechnoServe project – including all administrative costs – participants increased their earnings by an average of $𝟳.𝟲𝟬.) We appreciate Bain’s excellent support to help make this possible.

Women contribute 80% of Ghana's tomato production! 🍅 A TechnoServe Ghana and Mastercard Foundation program were highlighting in the Ghana News Agency for its the critical role in supporting women in agriculture. The initiative aims to create 326,000 dignified jobs while increasing food production by 20%. With women contributing 80% of Ghana's tomato production, this investment in female farmers represents both social progress and economic innovation. The eight-member consortium is building market connections and addressing barriers to women's participation in agriculture.
