Anne Hiter, Sr. Director of our Procurement group, and Kara Figliulo (Orth), Sr. Director of our Interiors: Prototypical (Gettys One) group, returned from #HDSummit with one overwhelming takeaway: Great leadership is built on resilience, determination, and vision. They were especially inspired by Dr. Sian Proctor and Greg Hoffman, two speakers at the conference who have lived and breathed these qualities—proving that success comes from pushing boundaries, embracing challenges, and daring to think differently. Dr. Sian Proctor is the definition of perseverance. After facing setbacks in her dream of becoming an astronaut, she refused to give up. In 2021, she made history as the first African-American woman to pilot a spacecraft with SpaceX Inspiration4. Her journey is proof that resilience and passion can break barriers. Greg Hoffman, former Nike CMO and branding visionary, has built a career on determination and vision—turning creativity into impact. He reminded us that great leadership isn’t just about ideas, but about bold action and relentless pursuit of excellence. Their words left a lasting impression: Success isn’t just about talent—it’s about the courage to keep pushing forward, the determination to innovate, and the vision to create something meaningful. Anne and Kara returned from HD Summit feeling inspired, empowered, and ready to embrace these values in their work. #Leadership #Innovation #Inspiration #Networking #HospitalityDesign #TheGettysGroup

We're proud to partner with Outbound Hotels, a brand that expertly blends a connection to nature with the comforts of a lifestyle hotel. Their dedication to creating spaces that resonate as home while embracing local culture is truly inspiring. The journey depicted in their latest film showcases the profound impact of collaboration and community in redefining hospitality. At The Gettys Group, we're thrilled to be part of this adventure, working alongside partners like Waterton, Springboard Hospitality, and CoralTree Hospitality. As Outbound perfectly puts it: Watch the film. Feel the adventure. And join us on the journey. Film Credit: Flickman 🎥
At Outbound, we believe that a connection to nature is a connection to yourself, your friends, your family, and the world around you. That belief has shaped everything we do. We set out to create spaces that feel like home—places that make breathtaking destinations more accessible while staying deeply rooted in local culture. In September 2023, Outbound officially launched with a vision: to bring people closer to the outdoors while offering all the comforts of a lifestyle hotel. Since then, we’ve opened three hotels— The Virginian Lodge in Jackson Hole, WY, Outbound Mammoth in Mammoth Lakes, CA, and Outbound Stowe in Stowe, VT—with two more on the horizon in Oakhurst, CA (at Yosemite’s South Gate) and Sedona, AZ. And this is just the beginning. This short film captures the journey behind Outbound—our passion for hospitality, the outdoors, and the incredible communities that make these destinations so special. Because at Outbound, adventure isn’t just a trip—it’s a way of life. A heartfelt thank you to our partners at Waterton, The Gettys Group, Springboard Hospitality, CoralTree Hospitality, our incredible property teams, investors, and everyone who’s been part of this journey. It truly takes a village. Watch the film. Feel the adventure. And join us on the journey. Film Credits: Flickman 🎥 who was able to take a mix of existing footage, shoot new interviews, and edit together a brand story that is seamless. #OutboundHotels #Hospitality #Travel #OutdoorLife https://lnkd.in/gpmQeWnP

Our CEO, Ron Swidler, has been reflecting on key takeaways from his week at the #ALISconference in LA. Dive into the insights below: 1. Optimism Bias: There was a lot of optimism at the conference. Perhaps we, as hospitality people, are predisposed to see the bright side of the future. I hope that the predictions for more deals and renovations this year come true. 2. Predictably Unpredictable: Volatility seems to be the new normal. From economic uncertainty to shifting travel behaviors, everyone acknowledged the instability. Yet, unlike past downturns, there’s no sense of panic—a testament to the industry’s resilience post-pandemic. 3. Sidelined Money: Capital is out there, but it’s expensive and waiting for the right moment. Deals aren’t happening at the pace we may like, but industry veterans believe that pent-up demand will soon push the market forward. Those who are creative and prepared will be in the best position to move when the tide turns. 4. Costs (Out-of) Control: While discussions about rising costs were persistent, there was less conversations around savings through operational efficiencies. Given that inflation, labor, and supply chain pressures are here to stay, we believe that the real opportunity lies in finding smarter ways to streamline processes, leverage technology, and optimize resources. The biggest opportunity ahead? Time-saving strategies. We're focused on unlocking efficiencies that drive real impact. And that’s what we’re solving for next. #Hospitality #ALISconference #Leadership #HotelIndustry
