This #NutritionMonth, we’re diving into food! 🍽️ To kick things off, we’re highlighting the The Periodic Table of Food Initiative (PTFI) - a groundbreaking effort providing tools, data, and training to understand how foods, on a biomolecular level, impact our health and help us better understand how certain farming practices impact the nutritional value of food. Data is the key to unlocking solutions for a healthier planet and a more sustainable food future. 🌎 Discover why PTFI matters and how The Rockefeller Foundation is supporting this work: https://lnkd.in/eEmkZydT #FoodSecurity #Sustainability

Today, we announced a major expansion of our #FoodisMedicine initiative to support America’s Veterans. In collaboration with esteemed partners including the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Duke University, Instacart, University of Utah, Syracuse University, 4P Foods, and Reinvestment Partners, we are launching new pilot programs to reach 2,000 Veterans in Maryland, New York, and North Carolina. This expansion builds on the success of existing #FoodisMedicine programs in Utah and Texas, which are already making a difference in the lives of Veterans. Working with partners, we’re advancing research and scalable strategies to improve the health and well-being of those who have served our nation. Karen Dewey, a dedicated nurse practitioner at the VA SALT LAKE CITY HCS, has seen firsthand how access to fresh fruits and vegetables transforms Veterans’ health. Many of the Veterans she cares for struggle with chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, and nutritional deficiencies - issues that are deeply impacted by diet. Yet, for many Vets, fresh produce doesn’t fit in their budgets. That’s where the VHA Fresh Connect Pilot Project comes in. Supported by The Rockefeller Foundation, this program provides Veterans with funds to purchase fresh, nutritious food - improving health outcomes and ensuring food and nutrition security. Watch their work in action. #FoodIsMedicine

Ahead of the Powering Africa Summit where Mission 300 Accelerator CEO Andrew Herscowitz will sit down with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Chris Wright to talk about how we can end energy poverty, we're excited to share a blog about the importance of providing billions of people worldwide with clean cooking options. In this blog, Andrew explains how The Rockefeller Foundation, in support of #Mission300, is not only working to bring electricity to 300 million Africans by 2030, but also working to reduce the number of people who die unnecessarily each year from the indoor air pollution caused by cooking with wood, charcoal and biomass. #PoweringAfrica Read more: https://lnkd.in/eEMKiXy2

The Rockefeller Foundation and UNDP in Asia and the Pacific are partnering to unlock opportunities and deliver results for people across the Asia-Pacific region. With 60% of the world’s population calling this region home, mobilizing financing for sustainable development is more urgent than ever. Today, Asia-Pacific faces an $800 billion annual funding gap needed to create jobs, improve healthcare, expand energy access, and build climate resilience. Through this partnership, we are committed to ensuring that communities, especially those too often left behind, have the resources they need to thrive. Together, we can close the climate finance gap and create a more sustainable future for all. https://lnkd.in/d-drFAs4
