Commissioners Kelly and Donna Igleheart spent time with Salvationists in Luanda, Angola, sharing leadership principles at officers' councils while experiencing the impact of our mission in diverse settings - from the joyful students at Colégio William Booth to a humble corps setting where one officer faithfully ministers to their community. Their visit culminated in a powerful Sunday worship service at Corimba Corps that demonstrated how faith unites hearts beyond language differences. After establishing himself as a Registered Nurse in Germany with a promising hospital career, Zimmerer made what he calls a "seismic shift" from "saving lives to saving souls" by answering God's call to Salvation Army officership. His international service spans 21 years across four countries—requiring him to develop entirely new skillsets. "During our times overseas, we never had any employees like here in the U.S.—it was just us. So, I became an electrician, plumber, gardener, maintenance worker, and several more unlikely duties," he shares. Through natural disasters, camp rebuilding, and ministry challenges, the Zimmerers have witnessed hundreds of lives transformed.
