Big, fun news: In April, we’re releasing a Community Tier of Turquoise Rates and Contracts available at no cost. Tell your friends! (Especially if your friends are local providers, employers and startups). Over the past 4 years in the transparency business, we’ve seen a need to make price transparency data more accessible to local organizations. Like the government behind the price transparency regs, we believe that healthy competition starts at the local level. Over the coming weeks, we’re releasing the Community Tier to non-hospital community health providers, employers, local non-profits and researchers, and a select cohort of startups. This tier is designed for local orgs: it’s self-service, has limited seats, and is intended for internal use (aside from the innovator cohort, details below). It will include platform-based access to price transparency disclosure data, including payer negotiated rates, list prices, and cash prices within a region. It will have fewer features compared to our paid offerings, but it will pack a punch. For community health providers and employers, we’ll also offer limited self-service access to Clear Contracts, our AI-powered platform for contract management and negotiation. The employer offering is intended for health plan administrators. For a cohort of small (growing) startups and research organizations innovating in patient access and transparency, we’ll offer an engineer-friendly, self-service cut of transparency data intended to help you find product market fit and prove that we can collectively create savvy consumers of healthcare in the United States. Visit the link below to sign up for the waitlist and learn more about the Community Tier ahead of our April release. https://lnkd.in/gfYN7sND

With new transparency requirements in place, many employers are asking: Now what? Compliance feels overwhelming, the data is complex, and using it to drive meaningful change isn’t always clear. I’m excited to join Ashok Subramanian, CEO & Founder of Centivo, in a discussion moderated by Ryan Olmstead of Catalyst for Payment Reform, where we’ll break down: - What price transparency rules mean for employers - How cost disparities impact your workforce - How to use transparency data to build better, more cost-effective provider networks - Practical strategies to improve healthcare benefits with affordability and clarity - Employers have a real opportunity to take control of healthcare costs while improving quality. Looking forward to the conversation and hope to see you there! Join us live on March 18th – register here: http://bit.ly/4ircXyj

Wow - talk about a wild afternoon for transparency enthusiasts like me. President Trump signed another Price Transparency Executive Order into law, nearly six years since the 2019 EOs that catalyzed modern price transparency (and Turquoise's founding) - TL&DR, he's doubling down and wants price transparency efforts to dramatically accelerate. We at Turquoise Health were already in a frenzy by the time we realized the EO references two stats from our data publications last year: 1) PT data shows a savings opportunity of 27% for employers across shoppable services, and 2) top of market prices (inflation adjusted) dropped 6.3% since the rollout of PT data in 2021. Maybe, just maybe, Trump reads our blog on Air Force 1, Lizzie Whitsel, Forrest Xiao? We welcome the administration's re-emphasis on price transparency and believe now more than ever in the potential for healthy competitive markets and empowered consumers to drive price reform in healthcare. Some highlights & reading between the lines (see the full EO text below): - Heavy focus on expeditious enforcement of the *existing* PT laws. I'd expect to see Payer MRF enforcement finally take shape as well as wide-sweeping hospital enforcement. - Disclosure of prescription drug prices (likely a focus on the full flow of funds) back on the table and in the admin's crosshairs. - Potential for *expansion* of price transparency requirements (as opposed to rollback or DOGE-slashing of regulation as some feared). In draft laws in congress last year, expansion PT requirements for labs, ASCs, and freestanding imaging. We'll see a policy proposal 90 days from this EO. Fast times for price transparency in America - we at Turquoise will keep you posted.
