U.S. Special Operations Command welcomed Secretary of the Navy John Phelan to discuss how the US Navy and United States Marine Corps team provides maritime SOF capabilities that enable joint force lethality and survivability in denied and contested areas. Kaspars Pudāns and Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the Armed Forces Dainis Ceirulis at our headquarters on MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, to discuss security cooperations and the continued strength of our special operations partnership through U.S. Special Operations Command Europe and our engagements and exercises with NATO SOF Allies. “Skyraider II represents not just a new platform, but a modular solution to our national security needs,” said AFSOC Commander Lt. Gen. Michael Conley. “It will redefine how we approach joint campaigning, crisis response and the evolving landscape of modern warfare.” The Skyraider II officially joins the Air Force Special Operations Command fleet with the delivery of the first missionized aircraft at Hurlburt Field, Florida.

US Navy SEAL and German Naval Special Ops Dive Training Naval Special Warfare Command - Navy SEAL & SWCC Teams provides maritime special operations capability to enable Joint Force lethality and survivability in denied and contested areas. Lethality is a United States Department of Defense priority for our warfighters. We maintain that readiness through training with our NATO Allied SOF Command and partner forces. German Naval Special Operation Force members recently conducted maritime dive operations with U.S. East Coast-based NSW operators to improve warfighting readiness as part of joint training off the coast of Key West, Florida. Highway Landing Mode: ACTIVATED During Freedom Shield 2025, Air Commandos from 353rd Special Operations Wing teamed up with Republic of Korea Special Operations Forces combat controllers for a simulated highway landing. This mission validated the U.S. and ROK combined capability of establishing a landing zone on a highway, landing an MC-130J in the established zone, finding and recovering injured personnel, and safely transporting those personnel to medical facilities to receive the care they need. Ready always—stronger together!

The rapid response of Air Force Special Operations Command's capabilities and Air Commando mobility, including the C-146 and MC-130J, are working with U.S. Army Special Operations Command Special Forces to deliver critical aid and support to our Thailand partners. SOF in the Pacific with U.S. Indo-Pacific Command maintain military readiness with our #FriendsAlliesPartners to ensure integration and timely crisis response actions.
