  • For Young Jo Fontaine, a night nurse on the step-down unit at White Plains Hospital and this week’s #NurseDayThursday, the path to nursing wasn’t straightforward. His journey was shaped by experiences, self-discovery, and an unwavering passion for patient care. While Young Jo entered college as an engineering major, he quickly realized that, despite excelling in math and science, the field didn’t provide the fulfillment he sought. The desire for one-on-one patient interaction and the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on others' well-being led him to switch gears and pursue nursing. The true confirmation of this career choice came during clinicals, where hands-on patient care became the most rewarding part of his journey. “People don’t always see the physical and mental demands of nursing, but when a patient acknowledges and appreciates what you do, it makes all the difference,” he shares. Young Jo explains, “The unpredictability of nursing—especially on night shift—means that the job is never routine. Yet, the teamwork and shared purpose among colleagues make it a fulfilling experience.” Thank you, Young Jo, for your dedication, compassion, and the impact you make every single night—for your patients, your team, and the entire White Plains Hospital community! #WPHProud

  • White Plains Hospital joined forces with one of our corporate partners, Regeneron, at their headquarters in Tarrytown to promote heart health! Our team helped provide free blood pressure screenings, and valuable education for their employees. Together, we’re empowering our community with the tools and knowledge to adopt heart-healthy habits and recognize warning signs—because strong, healthy hearts start with awareness. To see if you should be screened for heart disease, take our risk assessment: https://lnkd.in/eM9i7eZ7.
