Last Friday marked the second installment of the Free Game Fireside Chat featuring Joshua Sims (Joshua S.) marketing executive turned founder of The Simléa Group— a growing East Coast hospitality company. He’s also the cofounder and creator of HBCU Nightly, a platform that began as a Twitter Space during the pandemic and has since evolved into a dynamic nightly show centered around HBCU culture and sports. The day was also a special moment for the seven Xceleader fellows in the Hustle Academy pilot at Grambling State University. Fellows had the chance to connect with Josh, ask thoughtful questions, and spend quality time over dinner with the team. To cap it all off, they were gifted exclusive custom merchandise to commemorate the night.

We are proud to celebrate Xceleader’s Vote HBCU fellow, Sagal Buchanan, for recently being elected as Student Government Association President at Bethune-Cookman University. Sagal becomes Vote HBCU’s very first fellow to be elected as SGA President, joining Xceleader’s expansive community of SGA Presidents. During our tour stop at BCU, Sagal led a voter registration activation, panel discussion and an Election Day march to the polls, engaging her campus community and ensuring that they were civically engaged during the 2024 election cycle. We are excited to see how her leadership and passion for advocacy will transform the student experience at Bethune Cookman University. #Wildcats #VoteHBCU

Today, Xceleader’s Atlanta Alumni Club spent our Saturday morning with The King’s Table at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. Our team of volunteers helped to load 200+ cars with food for families in the community. We hope to have more HBCU alumni to join us next month! Every first Saturday of the month, we will be volunteering with The King’s Table. #hbcualumni

This Valentine’s Day, our Xceleader DC Club spread love by volunteering with DC Central Kitchen preparing meals for the community. Since 1989, DC Central Kitchen has been a resource for the DC community, not only by feeding the souls of the city with healthy meals but through life-changing culinary training to more than 2,200 adults facing barriers to employment, preparing them for careers in the hospitality industry. We thank the staff at DC Central Kitchen for welcoming us to their kitchen. We look forward to coming back to serve.
