The Affirming Official is the senior level representative from within each Organization Seeking Assessment (OSA) who is responsible for ensuring the OSA’s compliance with the CMMC Program requirements and has the authority to affirm the OSA’s continuing compliance with the specified security requirements for their respective organizations. (2) Affirmation content. 🚨 Final Rule #32CFR has been published 🚨 The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) can now be assured of the #CMMC level requirements being codified (no further changes) by Congress as we have them today. Also, as we await the final 48CFR to be published early next year, DIB contarctors should now count on #CMMC Certification being required in forthcoming #DoD RFQ/RFP solicitations at Level 2 and Level 3 of the CMMC requirements. The Department of Defense (DOD) has officially released the final rule establishing the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Program. Effective December 16, 2024, the DoD will now require all defense contractors and subcontractors to implement and maintain specified security measures to protect Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUl). PSA: security tools don't need their own CMMC certification, but a fully managed service that includes ongoing support and active administration (people performing processes using the tool) does require CMMC certification. Whether you're an internal IT team member or an external service provider, your security tool vendors cannot fully absorb your CMMC burden.
