KC attended Nobel Academy in Kathmandu. His artistic journey in the U.S. started at North Lake College in Irving, where he earned an associate degree in fine arts. He received another associate degree in arts and technology from Brookhaven College in Farmers Branch.

To share his love of art, KC opened AFactory Studio in south Irving in 2010. The studio has grown to become a museum and an art school. It's also home to three galleries and an art shop.

Along with exhibits at his studio, the artist has had several solo and group exhibits in the United States and Nepal. He says he's most influenced by Jackson Pollack and Pablo Picasso. Like them, he takes an organic approach to painting, deconstructing the normal by blurring the flow of form and color. He also experiments with texture and surface dimensions.

The Arts Center will host a reception with the artist from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The event will include a live painting demonstration. Admission is free. The center is at 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd. For details, visit irvingartscenter.com.
