Making Social Impact Change for the least privileged of CA with a technology driven program for United Ways – fund it with me! Recently, Elizabeth Andrade, MBA, Executive Director of 211OC, a key service of Orange County United Way, inspired me to rethink how we discuss nonprofit work. Instead of “charities,” we should view organizations like United Way OC as “Social Impact Change Agents.” I like that a lot. Their work aligns, funds, and scales smaller community-based organizations (CBOs) to tackle crucial challenges and support cohorts of people in need, such as mothers with young children, veterans, and the homeless, many of whom suffer from mental health challenges. There are United Ways all over the USA, but I am now working with a dozen of them in California. If you are a distressed person in need of types of charity/care, you call 211 – not 911. In August, I joined a United Ways Enhanced Care Digital Exchange Framework (DXF) workshop with CEO Peter Manzo and Enhanced Care Program Manager, Zuleima Flores-Abid, collaborating on a vision with 10 California United Way local organizations who run nine 211 Call Centers. Together, we’re building a better future-ready United Ways Enhanced Care Referral system to support the ~4% of California’s most vulnerable residents across 20+ counties. The State of California Health & Human Services organization, is funding some of this United Way effort via a program called Data Exchange Framework (DXF.) It helps organizations pursue Data Interoperability around systems of Care Delivery. This digital transformation will drive more precise referrals, better measure impactful outcomes, and strengthen the effectiveness of in-community resources. But we, United Ways of California, need greater economic support to make this vision a reality. My goal? $200,000 in DXF matching donations to launch this critical project, which may set a new standard for CA statewide and potentially national social impact. Join us in making a lasting social impact. Every dollar helps bring California’s most vulnerable residents one step closer to essential care resources. Join me. Make your impact here. I need hundreds of donors. Be one: https://lnkd.in/gGQRggWF. #CaliforniaUnitedWays #SocialImpact #DXF #UnitedWaysEnhancedCareDigitalExchangeFramework #DaveMcCann #McCannAdvisory

This Friday 17th May is International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOBIT). Its purpose is to raise awareness about the discrimination and violence faced by LGBTQI+ communities worldwide. As a Mother & Step Mother to children within this community, a proud work voluntary community lead & ally and active committee member & Pride co-production lead for our local pride, this day is SO important to me to recognize, support and most importantly advocate. This year’s theme is “No one left behind: equality, freedom and justice for all”. This theme IMO speaks volumes. This is what we should all want, especially as active allies. So much progress has been made, especially in the UK, but we all know there is a lot more which needs to be done and it’s essential we advocate for equality. Therefore I'm sharing here for awareness along with a few things we can all practice to show support for this day. Educate Yourself and Others: Learn about LGBTQI+ history, rights, and challenges. Share this knowledge with friends, family, colleagues to raise awareness. Listen to the experiences of LGBTQI+ people: Amplify their voices by sharing their stories and advocating for change. Be a Visible Ally: Display symbols of support, such as rainbow flags or stickers, in our homes, workplaces, or social media profile. Attend or Organize Events: Participate in local IDAHOBIT events, rallies, or workshops. These gatherings provide opportunities to connect with like-minded individuals and show solidarity. Encourage workplaces and educational institutions to adopt inclusive policies and create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ individuals. I am very fortunate that my employer is so inclusive and supportive of LGBTQ+ individuals, but so many other companies either lack the education or desire to be inclusive. Support legislation that protects LGBTQI+ rights: such as anti-discrimination laws and marriage equalities. Donate to or volunteer with organisations that work toward LGBTQI+ rights, mental health support, and community building. Use social media: Share informative posts, articles, and personal stories related to IDAHOBIT. Use relevant hashtags to amplify the message. 🎉 The Winter Olympics are coming back to Utah in 2034! 🎉 And guess what? I just happen to live in Utah! 🏔️ Coincidence? I think not! 😉 Here's the fun part: The Winter Olympics need a RevOps superstar, and I just happen to be open to work. Sounds like a match made in snowy heaven, right? ❄️ Imagine this: It's a 10-year runway to land the coolest job ever (pun intended). Helping the Olympics run smoothly, from the slopes to the spreadsheets. Living the dream right in my backyard! So, if you’re reading this and happen to know someone who knows someone (you get the idea) involved with the 2034 Winter Olympics, let’s connect! ⛷️ Who wouldn’t want a RevOps guru who’s as passionate about efficiency as they are about hot cocoa and ski lifts? ☕🚡 P.S. Do you have any tips on how to make my LinkedIn post go viral? Asking for a friend. 😜 P.P.S. Repost this if you believe in dream jobs and serendipity. ♻️ Thank you! #WinterOlympics #Utah2034 #RevOps #OpenToWork #DreamJob #JobSearch #CareerGoals #Networking #Olympics2024 #SnowyHeaven #EfficiencyExpert #HotCocoa #SkiLifts #LinkedInTips #GoingViral #Serendipity
