✳️ Great news for improving the Software Supply Chain security. The OASIS has launched a Technical Committe with participation from multiple software vendors. The Open Supply Chain Information Modeling (OSIM) objective is to create a framework to standardize and promote information models crucial to software supply chain security. The framework will help to standardize existing SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) models, such as CycloneDX and SPDX. Let's talk about time... #Time is not just a passage of seconds, minutes and hours. It is always somebody's time. Many take for granted that they can dispose other peoples' time like it is your own. So please consider this when you send that meeting invite or call for action. Maybe add an agenda to that call? Or a deadline to the task? Time is also happening in synchronization or not. When the time is most suitable might not be the same as for your colleague and wise use of communication that supports meeting the goal where all participants can contribute when they can will ease tensions and raise productivity in your team. Time can be sliced in infinity, but your attention cannot. Back-to-back appointments with to time for calibration in-between turns your day into a rollercoaster. So consider grabbing that focus time in your schedule before it evades you. #newwaysofworking #productivity #timemanagement

As organizations grow and change overtime, the question comes up: Do I centralize procuring services? or do we have individual departments source services? There is no right way for every company but here are some things to consider with interactions in these two models.

A Brief History of Stephen Hawking (part 2) I was introduced to Stephen Hawking by some avid readers at my home in the 1990s. ‘A Brief History of Time’ was at our home in 1996. It was one of the first two English books I attempted to read without much success. There is a snicker saying known as ‘Hawking Index’ in ebook industry. It means the % of pages you read in a book you bought. ABHT has been sold millions of copies; set a Guinness record for being on top of NYT bestsellers list for 247 weeks. Out of every 750 people in this world, one owns a copy. I own three copies. However, few have ever read the complete book scoring 100% in Hawking Index. For most, ABHT is more of a coffee table book, a point of pride to own rather than a challenge to finish. Hawking was aware of this and once quipped, “Yes, so is the case with the Bible and Shakespeare.” Interestingly, his original draft was packed with equations, but for the published version, he compromised by including only one: E = mc². It became the first book on theoretical physics with only a single equation. He decided to use it as a pinch of salt in a food instead of serving salt as a food. Hawking’s sense of humor was among the finest in the world. He became the prestigious Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University in the year I was born, stepping into a chair once held by Isaac Newton. When someone asked him how he was chosen for the role, he remarked, “It’s a stopgap arrangement. Everyone knows I won’t live more than a year or two, and by that time they’ll have found a suitable person.” It didn’t happen. He went on to occupy that chair for 30 years, until he reached the mandatory retirement age of 67. He attended a ceremony hosted by Price Charles in 1970s and he accidentally ran his wheelchair over Prince Charles’s toes. “I was unlucky I didn’t get the chance to do it on Margaret Thatcher”, he grinned. He once suggested, “We can send politicians to moon at lower costs because we do not have to bring them back”. After 1990s, he was focusing on building a grand theoretical model of the universe. At one of his birthday parties, when a woman dressed as Marilyn Monroe turned up, he couldn’t resist a pun: “Here is the model of the universe!” His books too are full of humor—never try reading them in a public place!
