A BPO team member is falling short on quality standards. How do you turn their performance around?
Under such circumstances, better to do some background work to collect facts - scope of individuals role and their understanding of key inputs and deliverable quality expectations, and then have an open discussion about how we as a team are operating? Ask about how the situation is with health or on home front - this way, I build trust and show that I care about them as an individual and want them to succeed….usually, we get to the root causes pretty quickly and align on key actions and decisions, for all parties involved, including the individual, be it training, shadowing, information, systems issue or something beyond e.g. client related actions

How can you measure project success beyond financial performance?
While I like Balanced Scorecard 4 quadrants - they were originally designed for Enterprise Performance Management Need. Acknowledging that NOT all projects are Enterprise level scope, I find "Success by Stakeholder" more practical 1. Business outcomes/Sponsor measures - let's say a workflow automation project, sponsored by CFO/CIO - is there a measurable improvement in working capital, measurable reduction in cost of running the system, i.e. Business/IT effectiveness gains. 2. Business User measures i.e. Usage/adoption - are colleagues in A/R, Billing, A/P, Collections, etc. truly adopting new workflow, changing daily routines, confirming efficiency gains realized, NPS, etc. 3. Core Team: Learning - new skills, Execution on-time, on-budget.
